dang! my friend had one like that an i remeber we built it. it took forever. a whole day just to get a quarter of it finished! anyway, nice job! and i agree with RichUK; lego need to make its pieces smaller so that AntiAliasing won't be required.

Somebody built a Star Wars prequel version of the Star Destroyer as part of the promotion for Ep III. It was pretty massive and required a metal beam for support. Ended up being auctioned off on eBay for charity.

This got me thinking of older toys. Just looked up Spirograph (that toy ROCKED!) and they are still making it....just a sad watered down version. I'm now thinking eBay for finding one...definitely gotta go with the old version (lots of discs/ellipses) rather than the new one (I think it's now 7 discs/ellipses).

It does not fail. There's a short series of interior shots showing lots of attention to detail, even inside.

edit: There's a number of under-construction pictures that show the interior as well.

I'm very fascinated by this project. Do you have a link to the story? This guy's got to have one to tell.
