what is your carrier sim card? you have to manually update unless they push OTA update from simcard.Sooooo I bought an unlocked LG v30+ a year ago and I just noticed that it's still using Android version 7.1.2 with a security patch level of April 1, 2018. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to update to the latest android version. The so-called update center says I have the latest version. Can someone point me in the right direction please?

wow you just got me to read up on updates and android version 10 i thought my galaxy s10+ had android 9 but the features of android 10 are on my phone so maybe im running 10 now? dark mode,desktop mode, wifi direct but maybe those are already things that samsung phones have /shrug hope you get your phone updated looks like they have 9 and 10 for the v30.
i bet there is alot of different ways. quick google search https://www.androidsage.com/2019/06/28/update-lg-v30-plus-android-9-0-pie/ i use redpocket ATT and redpocket verizon and they are slow to give updates but do give updates ota from the update software button. (using galaxy s9/s10 tho)So when I originally purchased my phone, I was using a Straight Talk Sim (AT&T network). Back in August, I switched over to T-Mobile (bought a sim card at a tmobile store). Is there a guide out there on manually updating my android version? I'm pretty computer savvy but I work best if I have a guide that I can follow
Was Straight Talk the original service provider of the phone? If so, you may need to input one of their sims to get whatever version of android they provided for the LG v30+ .So when I originally purchased my phone, I was using a Straight Talk Sim (AT&T network). Does Straight Talk sell the v30+ ? It's the service provider that pushes the update. Unless you root the phone you can't do the update yourself.Straight Talk wasn't. I bought it from Amazon as an unlocked phone.
