I'm a fan of the L-L cases. This one has an unusual design, due to the PSU placed at the front and the airflow is reversed. A lot of folks have had pretty good results with it though.

There's a big thread over on hardforum -

here

I have a PC-7 Plus II, and love it. It's in the same price range but it's a little larger, more like a standard mid-tower.

About all I can say is that it's short and the airflow scheme seems to be totally screwed up.

This is a great suggestion. That link has tons of great comments. Best bet is to read that and hear comments from people who actually own the case.

Airflow in this case works pretty well. The only issue is warm air can get trapped in the top of the case, heating up the GPU. Having a dual-slot video card that exhausts out the rear (8800 GTS, 2600HD, etc) helps keep the air moving, and thus keep heat from building up too much. Otherwise a slot blower exhaust in the top-most slot works well as an exit for the hot air pocket without cutting. The area along the expansion slots is pre-drilled for the Lian Li side blower fan or the 'patent side fan' (like on the PC-A10) so those options are available.

all in all a very good design. 8/10 If they had included one of their side-blower fans, a blow hole fan, or the 120mm like the V-1000 Plus II / V-600 with the side panel opening I would give it a 10/10.

agree w/ the above posters that recommend reading the hardforum thread. lots of good photos and comments there

That's the point, the rear exhaust fan should be up near the top - you don't give up time-tested design standards just to be different.

Just put the order in for one @ newegg. This is my first Lian-Li. I really hope its small going froma Mystique 632s to this will be helpful to my back (the cooler master is steel)

I also have a super cyclone blower from antec that sucks the air from the rear slots of the 8800gts out of the case, so yeah the airflow wont be a problem.

Time-tested design standards result in a case that is at least 18" tall. The design goal of this case is obviously to come up with a more compact solution while maintaining ATX motherboard compatibility. Meets that goal very well IMO.

1.5 inches taller and it could have been done right. No excuses.

The Mystique 632 is all aluminum and it has 11 drive bays plus a heavy, fancy bezel and mechanism. The extra 4 or 5 pounds is worth it IMO. You could remove the doors and mechanisms and cut the weight substantially.

Didn't know they had done that - you could have gotten an all-aluminum Mystique 631 from SVC.com for under $50 after rebate - the door can be hinged left, right or left off to cut weight.

Yeah, I think the mystique is just too big for what I run, and sometimes I move my case around. This case would handle the bulkyness and weight. I just have 1 dvd drive and 1 HDD (mounted in a 5.25 bay drive).

ah and there the other thing, i bought my case from compusa when they were closing for %30 off

$69 woo hoo

Im selling it on CL since its like a month old. $75

:Q thats a nice setup, although I wouldn't like the idea of a radiator above my $400 video card.

Im sure it would not hurt a thing. I would personally just drill a hole in top of the case. An 80mm fan would do just fine.

HAHAH those are for heavy cases you cant carry.....Or you could pimp it out. I might need it with my U2-UFO, its going to be delivered to me tomorrow YAY!!! But since i will have a phase unit in it thats going to jump it up 30lbs. then the 15lb case. Already 45lbs..... Not including the water cooling the 1kw psu......... Loaded this thing might weight about 70lbs.

Just looked it up...

This is your typical gay Lian Li case!

Look at the 'dissipating flow', so called... mobo mounted upside-down, intake in the rear (ahem), PSU exhaust in the front...

A Lian Li apologist recently explained this to me... these cases come from the other side of the world (China) and they think upside-down. Hello!?!?!

Gimme a break!
