has anyone bought the C-01 drive cover? its the one that folds down when the cd-rom tray comes out. (you can see it in action on www.lian-li.com) i was wondering what you guys think about it and how it works exactly because i dont see how you could open your cd rom by just pushing that tiny button on the bottom right corner. i was thinking about just getting the c2 and c6 covers, but all the places i've found charge like $15 for s/h.

I've got two of them in my PC-60.

Basically you just move your drive back about 5mm and fit the stealth cover in front of it. The button just pushes back and hits the eject button on your CDR or DVD drive. Then the cd tray opening pushes down the flap and you are done. Its spring loaded, so when the drive closes it just follows it closed. It works very nicely on my Liteon CDR and my DVD drive.

t also comes with this tiny rubber block that sticks on the the back of the button if you want the extra reach. I can't understand this, though - if its not reaching you just move the drive forward a bit!

I've got the old fashioned stick on cover for my floppy drive, and the stealth ones are tons better. I just wish I'd waited and got the new floppy cover too.

I've got a PC-65b, and I've been curious about these covers also! I have two optical drives in my case, and I originally stealthed both of them. I found that it was handy to be able to see the drive activity LED, so I changed the CD reader back to the standard setup. It's a Lite-On, but the black plastic finish is very dull, and doesn't look good with the case.

I've been looking for a solution for this for a while. These covers look like they'd do the job!

Atlantean - installing is v. easy.
Basically: Take the front cover off the case, loosen the screws on your drive and slide it back half an inch or so. Snap the cover in place the same way you would snap one of the bay covers in, and then hold it in place with those little black screw replacements that are used on the Lian Li case fans (don't know quite how to describe them, but they are great little things).

Then you just move the drive back forward till pressing the button on the cover will press the button on the drive. Screw into place. Put case front back on. Enjoy

Blooz1 -I'm not sure that these will do the job for you. The only thing breaking the front finish on these is the button. No hole for the light, or for a play button, or for a headphone socket. I can see the light on my drives (only just, and only a tiny bit) because I sit very close to my case (10 inches to a foot) and its at eye level. Since my room is dark (and I often have the light off to cut down on screen reflections) I can see the light through the fold line. If your case isn't near you, you might not be able to see it.

I get home from work in about 2 hours. I'll try to take a few photos to demonstrate it all.

*edit* - They do look great, though!

This is how it looks closed from the front, or when open like this

And here is a quick video clip of it working.

Sorry about the low quality - I'm on dialup and my upload speed sucks.

Hope this helps
Note: Cos the pics are on a geocities site, don't click on the links, but cut and paste into your browser.
