Lian - Li fan controller

Sorry, I just posted this in the "General" forum

I just installed the controller to my Lian-Li 60plusII. Not sure how and where I should install the temp sensors? There are 3. one for CPU and 2 other sensors(sys-f & sys-r) by the way, not sure what that stands for?. I have my 2 120mm fans attached to the controller - 1 for the front fan, and 1 for the side fan- NOT the CPU fan. I still have that attached to the MB (I assume that is more safe). Do I just stick the CPU sensor in between the CPU and CPU fan (AC 7 PRO), amongst the AC5??? As for the other 2 sensors, do I just put one in the back of the case, and one in front???

Hey rappy. I have the same one that I have been meaning to put in place but for the PC-V2100plusII. You can put the extra ones in typical temperature critical areas that you may want to keep an eye on. Put one next to the GPU and one next to the NB. Or since your GPU can most likely be monitored by other means put one by the NB and one by the SB. Or put one sensor near the NB and another near the memory. It's really personal pref and what you want to keep an eye on.

For the CPU installation. I would just put it close to the processor maybe on the side of the socket to keep an eye on the socket temp. You can always get the die temp by other means. But that is just my personal pref.

what ever you do dont sandwich it between the cpu and heatsink, or on any chip like that, you can put it on the very edge of it though.

Very true. If you put it between the chip and heatsink it will have a terrible effect on performance.

The other 2 sensor lables are: system front(air intake), system rear(exaust air)

How is the Lian-Li product you re describing. I am thinking of getting it, but I want to hear some positive reivews, as I havent found any reviews at all

napes22 if I can kick this cold I'll try to get it installed this weekend and give ya some feedback. Otherwise its gonna have to wait a bit. I'm sure rappy will have his in before I do so maybe he will have something to say about it.

I havent finished "completely" installing it as well. I am waiting for some new case fans. I can tell you it looks nice, of course matches the clean look of my Lian Li case, but if you have your PC under a desk, it is very difficult to view the readings. (it is small). Unce I have it all in (hopefully this w/e) I will update everyone.

Would you trust the Lian li controller to control the cpu fan? or let the mother board do it?
