My XP 2600 does a wu in about 13min, so your 14min is cool!

It will fill up the cache you set before it sends the results. So if you set it to -c 200 it will download 200wu and then send in the results. Cached wu are saved as JobPacketxx and results as Resultsxx. You can set the cache to less, but having the cache full is always a good idea.

if you have the "-f" switch on in your shortcut, it will finish your entire cache then upload it all at once. if its not set on, it will upload a unit as soon as you are done with it and grab a new one to keep your cache at 200.

Thank you sirs

(second unit said 778 seconds, so I'll leave it alone and have my Sunday  now )

The real issue here is whether the LM server will keep passing out workunits in sufficient quantity. I'm working at getting a reserve built up. I've presently got 17 system on it, and I'll keep them there as long as I can get work for them. I can probably get a couple more on it, and that will about max me out due to cooling issues on running the A/C. Another bottleneck is uploadind these buggers once the LM server starts in "caching" the uploads as it takes a while for each unit.

That is where an old slow system comes in handy, and using that to upload results instead of losing cycles on a fast system. If this becomes an issue, is there someone running linux on an old system that has a good solid net connection that could upload results files? The thought being to just tar/gzip up the directory the crunched units are in, and email those to the individual to upload them............. assuming of course the group is trying to maximize production during the remaining time for silverthorne. comments?????

lol, I could use the heat, the furnace is going steady. It was like minus 20 degrees F last night with a wind chill of -40.

I should set the computer up in the garage and see what kind of OC I can get

Silverthorne,
As many others have said you are the backbone of lifemapper (as well as a few others)
I am glad we can help you in a small way the way you helped the TeAm in a big way.

Everyone knows you would have gotten there on your own, you deserve 2nd place... I just wish we could give you 1st place.

Thank you for all your efforts in leading during this project, and for your team spirit.

I salute you

Thanks everyone, I'm not sure what I will run next but I ran Seti for about 4 years and dpad for awhile, also gave United Devices a run and CPDN too. I may try F@H.

Hey Gleem, are you in Minnesota?

Pretty sad that it takes a 'team' effort to take on one individual.
How sad is that?

I'm surprised you folks would stoop to such childish behaviour... :disgust:

edit: I can't believe this load of ..<stuff>.. over there. What a bunch of hypocrites! They can "borrow" computers from the workplace to make their "farm", but want to say friends working together is wrong.... PULEEEESE

lol WTF!

Well a TeAm effort it is indeed. Sorry if we offended you, it wasn't our intention. The bottom line is that Silverthorne would eventually have passed the person in front of him, but with LM shutting down, there isn't enough time left for the inevitable.

Like I said, sorry about our "childish TeAm effort", we just like to help each other where we can...cause that's what us TeAmMates do.

Oh and if you're Condor, then I'm really sorry, I know each person works hard to get where he/she is. This really is a tough one...

why should it matter to any of them? if they don't like it, then so be it. why come over here and cast stones and start a $hit flinging contest when no one cares what you think? what we are doing is trying to boost a teammate who has contributed a $hitload to the project and to try to help him get the standing he so rightfully deserves...you tell me which is worse....a group of teammates banding together to help someone or a bitter individual coming over to OUR forums and doing nothing more than trying to crap all over a team supporting a teammate? who looks like the childish one now?!?

OK now I'm pissed off!!! It's like they say, Jealousy makes you nasty... So I completely understand, not being part of a TeAm like ours can be a b!tch!

I figured once thet got wind of this that they would react just like they did but you know what is really screwed up is saying that I was not the one crunching the work units.

Well here is a picture of the Farm minus a few that are not in the picture. See, computers in my house not in some office. LOL
