Some people take hiatus' and some post a lot then taper off, and go back to lurking for a long time. I took a few months off from here myself last year, but I just couldn't stay away.

Thats pretty much it. I was only stupid enough to engage in P&N for my first few months here, and posted only rarely. There are plenty of folks in there who routinely argue the same old crap over and over ad nauseum and can get lifer status in a year.
There are also not likely to get Elite status because of what goes on in there. Video was like that for a while too.
I dont know if its been cleaned up or not recently.

I still go in and read P&N once in a while.
It lifts my spirits to know these people will never actually be congressmen.

Also, some of the above points were correct. There are name changes occasionally and some folks rack up lifer status right away and then just lurk for years after that.
