Hi all-
I'm currently considering upgrading my Celeron 550 to something with a bit more juice. I've pretty firmly decided upon one of the AMD lines of processors, but I'd like a little input on which would best suit me. For my mobo, I'm probably going to go with the currently popular MSI K7T Pro2-A, and am planning on overclocking the heck outta whichever processor I end up getting. Now the choice lies between the Duron and T-bird line of processors. While the Duron is cheaper, and cheaper is good, the T-birds are faster. My question is, do you guys feel that the extra money for the T-bird is warranted for the amount of performance increase it provides? Do T-birds tend to have better overclocking sucess? Which Duron/T-bird would you suggest I go with?? Additionally, I also wanna upgrade my Matrox G400 to either a GeForce 2 MX...good idea? bad idea? the GeForce 2GTS 32mb boards are coming down pretty quickly, should I try for that instead? Again, Price/Performance is the main issue here. Any input is more than welcome, and thnx for the advice. Happy Holidays all...
