Hi,
I was using att@home for past three months with linksys 4 port router and everything works fine till yesterday. I cannot get any connection thru the router to any of the computer that is hooked to it.
I called @home support and they told me get get rid my router and connect PC directly to the cable modem and it works fine. They told me @home will not work thru the router with more than 1 PC, I need to get another IP address for each additional PC.
After ending the call, I tried to use the router and did not succeed.
I tried resetting the router and enter the information again and verified them carefully. By looking at the router setup, it appeared to be able to obtain IP information from the cable modem correctly as it display the correct IP/gateway/dns etc. However, PCs connected to the router cannot access the web at all.
If I link the PC directly to the modem, it works, but not thru the router. I tried disabling the DHCP in the router setup and it did not help.
Does anyone know whether @home has the technology to block broadcasting thru a router to PCs?
How can I find out if it is the router that is causing the problem?
I recently returned the leased cable modem and save a few bucks off the monthly bill and I wondered if there is any connection....
Thanks.
