Liteon 40x24x10 vs Aopen 40x32x10x

Hi, im deciding on getting either one of these drives, any comments or experiences will greatly be appreciated. I need one that doesn't take all day to spin up a CD (eg. diamond data), thanks.

I have the Lite-On 40x, and it's been great. Burns a full 80 minute CD in about 3:20. I haven't noticed any real wait for the disc to spin up for reading either.

EDIT: I noticed that you're not looking at the 40x drive, but the 24x drive...the way you wrote the speeds is odd...usually you write the CD-R write speed / CD-RW write speed / Read speed....I have the 40x/12x/48x...not the 24x/10x/40x. But, the drives are similar to my knowledge, so the good points still stick.

In my past expierences with AOPEN drives, the media compatibility is not as good as Lite-ons.

I have an Acer burner and never had problems with it. However Liteon seems to be widely used and the majority of users don't have any problems so the safe bet will be on Liteon. But looking at the numbers, Acer is faster.

I don't see big difference in these three (Acer, LiteOn, Sony) dut to the only $2-3 difference.
But for the King of All... definitely Sexy Plexy 40X12X40

Aopens are more picky about media,LiteOn will burn anything,including the cheapest ones.
