so my lease will end in a couple of months. A coworker is looking for a roomate to share her 2 bed 2 bath townhouse. The rent is much cheaper than what I am paying (almost by half), so I would be saving 800 ish on rent alone!

She doesnt work in the same department as I do, but her cubicle is only a couple down from mine. Occasionaly she comes to me to ask for help.

Should I do this? any advice why it wouldnt be a good idea?

If you're male, living with a female is never a good idea, unless she's your girlfriend or wife.

are you friends at all? doesn't sound like it.

tough one. i'd probably say no, since you work that close with/to her.

Depends, since you are not close friends, might actually work...
just maintain appropriate boundaries..

no you will hate each other.

and just by laws of nature you'd be attracted or find someting about her maybe

unless it really is a good deal and you can't find a better one,

I'd stay out of this sticky situation, my guess is that she has an SO, or whatever and you'll treat each other like brother and sister and things might go down at the office.

been there, done that.

for the most parts, girls as roommates are DISGUSTING. i'm completely convinced they clean up for us while they date us, but as a roommate they're nasty.

the only way for a male to successfully live with a female in these types of situations is to go in not expecting anything sexual, treat it as a business arrangement and nothing more

if it happens its all gravy and icing on the cake until the breakup

but going in expecting a relationship will cause a lot of problems

Will there be sex involved?

Serious question - has she offered to share the apartment, or is this conjecture at this point?

Hey guys, I have a vice grip in my garage, I was thinking of putting my testicles in it and tightening it until they explode in a gooey, bloody mess -- is this a good idea?

Are you for real...this is the worst idea. Just find a cheaper apartment. Living with a co-worker is a bad idea because you will see this person 24 hours a day. When things are good it doesn't matter but eventually when you start getting sick of each other you can't escape the problem. Everywhere you look the person will be there. The bad situation then spills into your work environment. So basically when it hits this point the only way to get out is to find a new job AND move out of the townhouse.

Also since you are the male you can almost guarantee people will side with her if a problem starts. You will become the company idiot.

Why again would you even consider this? To save 800 bucks?
