Compensation for what? I'm sorry for the guy and I look for no sympathy here as I know from experience that I won't find it. Maybe I should ask, what is the best way to assist him? I told him I'm canceling the deal a few hours later *we did deal at 2AM Tuesday night, or if technical Wednesday morning, than I told him Wednesday noon that I'm pulling out*. I'm a little sceptical that he managed to sell his computer parts to his friend, and than his friend sold it elsewhere in just a few hours. I feel bad (for 100th time). Do I deserve negative heatware? The deal was canceled, before it begun, wasn't it?
I'm not a bad trader, this one gave me difficulty as how I managed it. I did a crappy job but I did learn. I've been in a few trades here and the sellers pulled out (I have the guts to mention it about myself and I become evil).
Compensation ..... he does not deserve. After all ... in theory, you have cost him nothing. However, what he does deserve is those parts. You know it, I know it. Also, whether you are skeptical about his ability to get rid of his parts so quickly is irrelevant. If he has 10 warehouses full of parts, he still has a right to get the ones you promised him. Because that's exactly what you did. You and he had a verbal contract my friend.
Do you deserve negative heatware? .... I'd say yes unfortunately. Simply due to the fact that you are having such a hard time deciding what to do in a situation where common morales should take over.
The deal was canceled, before it begun, wasn't it? Hell no .... the deal was cancelled after it was made (you did make an agreement right? Such as:
Buyer: I'll give you $X for this, this and this.
You: Ok, I'l meet you Wednesday.
See? The negotiating (dealing) was done. Give the man his parts.
