I recently received the Logitech Z-680's as a Christmas present, and just went over to Logitech's website only to see they are planning on releasing a newer model of these speakers. The ones I have are the 450w ones, but the website is advertising the 500w ones: linky

My question is, does anyone know if these newer speakers will eliminate the hissing problem with current Z-680 sets, and would I be able to "trade-in" my unopened Z-680 450w set for the new 500w ones? The model # between the 2 sets is the same and everything...

Dude, its a christmas present. If i gave you those and found out you traded it in for somethign else, I would be horribly offended... then again, if tehy look exactly the same and are still called z680, I may never know.

Those are not newer as far as i know. I think they just reviewed the specs. Probably pushed the system harder and achieved higher results. Those marketing people probably decided it was a good idea.

o you're experiencing a hissing problem too, huh? Do you have the clicking/popping problem when you're watching a DVD via SPDIF? (Only when switching data streams)

Is this alleged fix going to be a retroactive thing (i.e. a free recall, or at worst a customer pays to ship the receiver to them to receive the fix and Logitech pays return shipping) or only fixed in a new hardware revision?
