anyone running longhorn with first hand experience? i want to try it out, but i'm not sure if my system is good enough for it (p4 2.4 800, 650ram) also anyone know if this OS is 32 bit or 64 bit?
Oh, and unless you legally obtained Longhorn from somewhere, I wouldn't ask any further questions
Plus, it's in pre-beta-beta beta right now so it's performance is going to be pretty bad. Stick with XP if you want something that's usable and won't crash much.

Plus it's probably going to be mostly nothing like the final version. The user interface (or shell or whatever) is mostly a mod of WinXP as far as I can tell.
I dont know that a lock is neccisary at this point Smilin, it's not like he's asking someone to get him a copy or crack it or anything. Also everything that's been discussed here is already public information.
To answer the question yes I have run Longhorn so that I could begin testing WinFS (one of the new features). As was mentioned Longhorn is currently in "pre-alpha" phase so the current builds are not a lot like what the final release will look like. (anyone remember whistler?) It's nowhere near the stability level that you would want to run it on a production machine. It also takes a very heafty machine to run as it is not optimized yet.
