I need to set up a test environment to do script work with some old DOS modem software -- specifically, QModem Pro and Procomm Plus -- and so I'm hunting around for a modem emulator. Specifically, something that will allow me to, say, install BBS software and then dial into it from Qmodem running on the same machine. So I need a package that will sit between comports, routing traffic back and forth and emulating a Hayes-compatible modem at both ends.
Note I am not looking for a serial/IP redirector for connecting to the Internet or "dialing" URLs.
Free is always preferrable, but I'm willing to shell out a bit of money, say up to US$100, for such a thing, if anyone can point me in the right direction.
Oh, yeah -- DOS-based preferred (yeah, right! ), but Windows XP will also do fine.
