Tonight, Lucid Motors unveiled their Lucid Air vehicles.

It's nice looking Tesla Model S competitor with nice specs. The CEO of Lucid, Peter Rawlinson, used to work for Tesla. He helped with the design of the Model S but left Tesla on bad terms with Elon Musk.
The high end Air Dream Edition starts at $169k and will be available in 2021. The low end Air starts at $80k but won't be available til 2022. The Air Dream Edition has 1080 HP, 503 miles range, and will do 1/4 mile in 9.9 seconds. I think it's interesting car. Lucid is targeting higher end market with focus on nicer materials and interiors. More of high end Mercedes, BMW, and Porsche market. I think it's pretty smart as this is the market Tesla is not currently focused on as Tesla is more about the mass market and advancing the world's transition to sustainable energy. People who want high end luxury and want something other than Tesla might find Lucid Air vehicles appealing. Lucid Air seems to have really good battery, motor, design, range, and charging tech based on the published specs.

Definitely a company to keep an eye on if you're interested in EV cars. More competition is good thing as it will push Tesla and others to innovate faster and bring their A game.
