Don't be such a snob until you've actually tried to place an order. Most online and retail outlets do not have any IPaqs available.

FYI for anyone ordering an IPaq from anywhere, call and CONFIRM verbally that they have them in stock. Otherwise they are just waiting for a shipment from Compaq which means anywhere from a week to two months.

There are not as hard to find as people think. Radio Shack can get them for ya if ya order them... Takes less than a week.

I called all the local CA Bay area Rat-shacks about three weeks ago and they told me they're backlogged at the warehouse until late December. Compaq itself won't guarantee delivery until late December if you order now. Hopefully the supply has become less constrained.

At least this pales in comparison to the whole PS2 fiasco.

Circuit City and Sears seem to get Ipaqs in regularly. The PCCard expansion sleeve is pretty tough to get from what I hear though.

whats the best PDA, I was looking at the handspring VISOR'sbut the Ipaq looks good too, anyone know the best kind for the money?

The fact that a VISOR is 1/2 the price makes it inferior? whats the difference? What about the new VISOR?

You cannot compare the Visor to the Ipaq. It depends on what you are looking for. No definitely 'best pda'. The Visor is also 1/2 the price of the Ipaq. That tells you something right there.

maybe the old monochrome handspring deluxe model, but the new color model is almost the same price as the ipaq. And the ipaq beats it HANDS DOWN. Thats why everyone wants one and there is a HUGE backorder on these ipaqs. I love palms, but this ipaq is a no brainer. (If your gonna spend 400+ which is TOO much for a pda IMO.)

I don't see why you should go for the ipac with sleeve when Casio can take CF internally? From what I saw Casio's frond-end to default applications are pretty slick, too.

I was on low budget so I bought the Aero 1550, which is B+W pocket pc. I don't mind B+W but it is slow if you try to do too many things at once. Consider those go for around $200+ it definitely kicks visor/palm in my opinion.
