There was a review of the script on aintitcool.com a few months back in which the author basically couldn't believe how awful the script was.

I'll never watch another Shamalamadingdong directed movie again. I hate his directing style... in addition:

possible spoilers if you've never seen his crap!

ARgghghgh I'm trying to find info on the "big twist" at the end, but every review I've seen is just an overview that says the ending is terrible. Anyone have a link to good spoilers?

Boring ? You go into it fully knowing it's not an action movie right ? Pay attention and try and guess the ending, rather than waiting for it. I can understand someone calling it boring if it were predictable throughout... but that's not the case, is it ? Sounds like you shouldn't be watching these types of movies anyway.

Disagree with all three. Why would aliens be stupid to come to our planet? If they go to another planet, then we aren't there! We don't go to antarctica to make war with iraqis, we go to iraq.

Don't even understand your point about unbreakable.

Sixth sense was a bit overrated due to the boom but not "boring" for me at all. Whatever you do, don't see a bergman film if 6th sense is boring to you.

Maybe I was raised with movies that are too violent but Mel Gibson's character in Signs never even considering loading up on firearms when he KNEW they were being invaded by aliens was pure crap. I don't care if he was an ex priest, just wielding a bat against a hostile alien race was goofy. If this new movie has any similar element in which the townspeople simply acquiesce over some scenario instead of doing something plausible then I will sit this one out.

Of course since Abrasive told the whole plot I guess I don't need to see it anymore anyway.

I don't know, I really like unbreakable. And I like m night's directing style. Its slower than most, but very meticulous and dark. I enjoy it.

Signs was scary in many parts with good suspense I felt...the aliens water aversion was pretty ridiculous though.

I wasn't a huge fan of 6th sense. I guess I just hate kid actors is what it comes right down too.

he's the uncle of some indian guy i knew in school a few years back.

his movies are getting weirder and weirder. its like he writes his stories starting at the plot twist and then writing a story and characters around it. Im getting tired of crappy story telling and a huge plot twist at the end to make you forget it was crappy storytelling.

Better than those movies where the "plot twist" is weak and you see it coming an hour in advance (i.e. Matchstick Men). Or those movies where they have to explain everything over and over and assume the audience has no brain. Or mindless unbelievable "action" flicks ala ConAir.

Thinking is good for you. Just because it hurts your unexercised brain is no reason to fault the writer/director.

i actually enjoyed all of his movies and look forward to watch this movie.

My breakdown:

Unbreakable > 6th Sense > Signs

Unbreakable was reallly really good
