M2N78-LA (Violet6)

I have a HP computer with a M2N78-LA (Violet6) motherboard. On http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...120567&lang=en it says it supports an AMD Phenom II X4 Quadcore CPU. If I want to upgrade to this processor, are there any settings I need to change in the BIOS or on the board itself, or can I just install the new processor and heatsink/fan?

You'd want to make sure that you're running the latest BIOS revision.

Power supply looks like its pretty wussy though. A typical Asus or Gigabyte board has a much larger PSU embedded onto the motherboard.

Also, see the notice, Max TDP = 95 Watt. So, no, you're not allowed the top-end, 125W X4's.
