Machine won't start

I recently upgraded my son's machine with a new vid card (9600GT), 2 new RAM sticks and a new PSU. It hasn't worked well since. Now it won't start: it gives me the safe mode menu (but the keyboard keys don't function), then XP starts briefly, then aborts, and the whole thing starts again. I can get into the BIOS menu (and the keyboard keys work there).

I did try fiddling with the new RAM sticks, switching slots, using just one, then the other; to no effect.

probably want to post all specs first my first guess is to say the either the psu or mobo is not up to snuff for the video card but ....

There may be an issue with the data stored on CMOS. The changing of the hardware may have caused it thus causing the KB to act up as well. If the CMOS data gets currupt it tends to cause problems with your KB, mouse and other USB items. Just clear the CMOS and see if that helps. All you have to do is unplg the system and pull the motherboard battery out for a minute. Put it all back topgether and your good to go.

I would also go back to the original hardware and swap out one thing at a time and get teh system to boot. I'm assumming the PSU you purchased is a larger name brand unit from the one you had before.
