I bought the game off GMG with a 40% off coupon last week but I kind of regret not getting the game on the Xbox One since it seems to play better with a controller.

Not sure I can but I will try to gift it to my brother but i'm not sure Steam will let me do this since I bought it "for myself"...

Use an xbox controller with your pc.

Use an xbox controller with your pc.

Yeah it's just that the game would look even better on a 50" TV and would be a bit more enjoyable on a couch

I don't want to move my PC everytime I want to play the game.

I'm gonna settle on the PC and enjoy it on my small 27".

Reviews are all over the place with this game. I am pretty much thoroughly enjoying it.

Well the Steam reviews are 'Overwhelmingly Positive' almost entirely because the game runs @ 60fps on a toaster. People hadn't even had time to play the whole game before thousands of positive reviews were up. Avalanche know what PC gamers care about - framerate, resolution, and not much else.

Thanks for the link, just picked it up.

No problem!

I was able to get about an hour of game time in last night. First thoughts..

The game is beautiful on max settings, the photo mode makes for some cool looking screens. Car combat seems like it will get pretty wild as you progress. Driving feels a little heavy, but thats to be expected racing around the desert with all the mods on the car to weigh it down. Combat is similar to Batman/Mordor, which I enjoy, others may not. Looking forward to see how it goes as I progress through the story. Even with only an hour under my belt, I'd say it's well worth the $15 dollar price of admission.

Just bought this, installing now. I couldnt resist cdkeys $15 deal...too hot. Will report back once I get some play time

Deal is here http://www.cdkeys.com/pc/games/mad-max-pc
Whats you experience with cdkeys.com? just curious, might use them as an alternative as well for cheap purchases

One thing that I wish it had, is some form of the nemesis system that Mordor had. It would obviously not be a direct copy but I could see how it might be tweaked a bit to fit Mad Max

This coming from someone who sees anything positive in each Call Of Duty: Recycled Edition :sneaky:

I've used cdkeys numerous times over the last ~2 years, never had any issues. They email you the game key within minutes of your purchase. I've never had any trouble activating them (Steam or XBL). You can also use the 5% discount for liking them on FB every purchase. The only caveat would be you cant use Steam's refund policy on a game.

Got the game from CDKeys and am only an hour or two into it. So far though I'm really enjoying it.

This is seriously a great game. Its not say game of the year with the story; but the game play is fun.

Yep combat is batmanish - car combat is fun and challenging and you can just get lost running around in the desert.

I was running kb&m but found old rumblepad 2 laying around. Did a quick google to get it to work with mad mad; using x30ce to emulate 360 controller and it works beautiful. LOL had to get used to playing with the controller.

I've done 7 videos on Mad Max so far

My favorite part has been taking down convoys. It's a blast trying to catch the leader while his escort vehicles try to take you out and you're driving top-speed through all the sand, dust and car debris. And you get a cool hood ornament to top it all off. Car combat has been the highlight for me for the 14 hours I've played.

Unfortunately, the hand-to-hand combat is getting fairly tedious. I like the Batman style but in Mad Max you're severely limited by the lack of gadgets. Batman shined because you had so many options. In Mad Max you can punch, punch harder, shiv and shoot your shotgun. Just having another 1-2 weapons would have gone a long way I think. Sadly, Batman-style gadgets just wouldn't make much sense in Max's world.

Good game overall though.

Got the game on steam. Played about 40+ hours so far and opened it today to find the save file is gone. Wtf...I even had the cloud sync thing turned on and it was gone from there too. Anyone know how to get my save file back.

Alright, I was going to wait until the PS4 version got cheaper... but at $15 for the game + DLC I couldn't pass up the PC game version. Plus it sounds optimized enough that I should be good with my 570.

W/ a wireless controller and long HDMI cable I can play on the TV anyway

I did my first convoy take down in a dust storm. Holy crap it was awesome. If it wasn't for the enemy car lifebar indicators and minimap, I would have never been able to do it.

The sounds in the storm is amazing. Next time I drive into one, I'm gonna pump the bass so I can feel it, too.

I've put about 5 hours in so far. Pretty fun. The combat is lacking at the early part of the game, but driving is so fun it doesn't matter. The voice acting seems to be good too so all of the side mission cinematics have been worth watching.

Seems like there's enough to do that I'll be able to get a lot of time out of this.

The warcriers have the best lines, don't kill them. Although I'm pretty sure they are not Australian.

Well lol, i'm dumb, I bought a 35' HDMI cable to play this game on my 50" TV but realised that I have a wired 360 controller...a WTF moment on my part.

So now I have two choices: Buy a wireless 360 controller for 50$ or MadMax on Xbox One for 50$...

Eh, I'd get the controller (and don't forget the USB dongle that you need) as you might get some more use out of it.

Or you can still use your wired controller with a USB extension if you want to stay cheaper.

Not sure if it's the case where you are, but, the best buy near me carries a 360 wireless controller + wireless receiver combo package for $40-50. Also since you have an XB1, you can use an XB1 controller wired to your PC so long as you download the driver.
