if everything goes as planned, gay marriage will be legalized in NJ before Corzine leaves office.
how'd the pot measure do in Maine?
I don't get it. I'm still looking for timewarps at AT... what did I miss?

A majority of Maine citizens voted in favor of banning gay marriage. Why we have elections to decide civil rights for a minority group is beyond me.
Oh. Sorry Platypus, I forgot who you were without your platypusA majority of Maine citizens voted in favor of banning gay marriage. Why we have elections to decide civil rights for a minority group is beyond me.

Isn't that how we eliminated slavery, gave women the right to vote, ended segregation, allowed interracial marriage, and then gave african americans civil rights?
LMAO god dammit your country sucks at civil rights
it's hard forging ahead when you live somewhere that has more people than sheep

Eh, the insults are like water off a ducks back when I know that if I want to I can go buttfuck a man in holy matrimony, and if I happened to catch the AIDS my healthcare system isn't going to financially buttfuck me back. Happy times.
oh does maine still exist
Says the guy who lives on an an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Hush up now, us adults need to discuss serious matters...
Apparently he thinks that New Zealand is Neverland and adults don't exist here.wtf, was that supposed to be your retort? :hmm:
Slavery wasn't really ended by a majority vote. There was this big war in which the North (which also happened to be mostly anti-slavery) won against the South. Then during Reconstruction, the victors forced the losers to sign off on Amendments permantly abolishing slavery and setting the ground for equal rights regardless of race into the Constitution (though, it would take many court rulings to end a continued practice of separate but equal in regards to race). Civil Rights act was a legislature, not a majority vote.
Maine enacted same sex marriage via the legislature (so you couldn't have the argument for "activist judges"), but now it looks like the busybodies of Maine will overturn. Tyranny of the majority.
