I just got a new Visiontek GeForce3 64mb card. I am running a fresh istall of Win2K, Via 4to1 v4.32 drivers, Detonator3 12.41 and Direct8. The problem that I am having is that when I run 3Dmark2001, it will go through all the tests and then tell me that it did not run enough tests to give me a score. It seems that I am failing on the high res tests. Usually just one but sometimes two of them. After testing for a while and reloading the above drivers a few times, I will get one complete test in, with a score of around 4880. I don't know what is going on and after gaming with this new card, I am not impressed with the frame rates that I am getting. I know there is a problem with my setup and everything will get better once I figure out what is going on. Check out my Rig and tell me what you think. I even began pulling out sticks of ram, changing the AGP settings in my bios and even removed sound card and ethernet card. I am also running SP2 for Win2k. Anyone know a solution to my problem?
P.S. This also happened with a Creative GeForce2 32mb card. I thought the card was bad so I upgraded. Also, once in a while, I will suddenly loose the option to test my AGP texturing in dxdiag. The button will be grayed out and you also wont be able to disable any of the tests. I wont be able to play any of my games and keep getting dropped back to my desktop. The only way I have found to fix this is to reformat.
