Major Video Errors on Desktop System

I went to use my desktop this morning, and the screen saver was frozen and wouldn't move no matter what I did. So I restarted. On the restart, the first screen to come up (black screen with bios version info in white writing in the corner), was scrabbled, with black and white pixellation covering the screen. The writing was barely readable behind the noise. After that screen went away, nothing further appeared on the screen.

I'm wondering if anyone knows what is wrong with my computer. I'm thinking the video card might have died. If anyone has any ideas, let me know. Thanks!

Heat, Virus, Spyware, GPU, PSU, hdd could all be candidates for causing the problem. Are you able to boot to safemode?

Can't boot to safemode... doesn't even get that far before the screen goes blank. I don't think it could be heat because I've never had an issue with heat in the year I've had the system. The PSU seems to be powering everything just fine.

Maybe reseat the GPU... make sure the computer is off and power supply unplugged first.
Also, what's the temperature and humidity of the room the computer is in? My computers always have more issues in the summer. Dust accumulation on the GPU/CPU will also increase the heat substantially. I air blast my system every few months... brings down the CPU temperature 10 degrees celsius.
