Hi Jon B and Mander. Looks like I'll be joining you Jon and falling out of the Top 100 soon, so much power out there now. I sure miss my herd of 3,000 PIII-300's. Maybe this year I can fire up about a thousand or so Thunderbirds.

Things are starting to look up a little around here.

How many more old &quot;legends&quot; are they that have drifted away from the rest of the herd? I was wondering the other day why we didn't contact some of these former big hitters who had lost interest &amp; let them know of our plight &amp; see if we could renew their fire. I'm not talking about spamming or using Dnet or AnandTech to gather contact info. I'm sure many here already know how to get in touch with these guys.

Just got the ok to build another 5 Durons @ hopefully 900+. That and a couple of other machines should get me up to the 110Mk/s output and surpass my goal of 100Mk/s!

I'm SLOWLY climbing and now I guess my next goal is getting into the top 110.

I see the great accomplishment of the Team made it to Number 1 over the Macs after so long. Then the low cost of the powerhouse CPU chips hit, both the PIII and AMD's at 1 gig. The Team is doing great considering that the Dutch team has double the amount of contributors. Looks like a lot more interest in RC5 overseas, probably has been all along but they didn't have the power because CPU chips were way too expensive. Looks like Durons have just a good FPU core as the Tbirds &amp; regular Athlons and better than Celerons. You can set them for Pentium Pro FPU mode too which increases the block speed almost 30%!

I repeat, if you have any kind of Athlon, Duron, Tbird don't let the RC5 autodetect, it sets it to regular Pentium instead of Pentium Pro and Pentium II. Nothing worse than not getting the most out of CPU clock cycle.

What version of the client are you using? There is a specific core for the T-Bird and Duron on the newer clients. I'm assuming you are still using a client back from your glory days.

This is true Jay, have not upgraded any clients. Can DL new one for home machines. Currently running 2.7106.436
Thanks will check out new client and see if it cranks better. Currently getting 1,588,751.51 from Duron 600 running at 700 on Asus A7V. Thats's as high as I was able to get it without 98 burping randomly.

Hey, dmcowen, you're in for a pleasant surprise

My duron 800 cranks out a nifty 2.8 MKey/s with the 463b client (not the newest but I don't think there are any speed improvements in the latest one 465b or something) if I don't remember wrong... so you should get about 2.6 or so I guess ... how's that for improvement?!? 1 MKey/s extra

I'm not thrilled with the client itself but the throughput did jump to 2163.465

Wish I had this client back when I was controlling the 3,000 PII-333's.
