Hey you networking gurus, god a poser for you... I'm trying to map a path to a friend's computer; he's on a dormitory LAN and I'm using Roadrunner for my access. I'm running Win2k with no significant deviations from the default networking setup, and while I normally run behind a ZoneAlarm stealth firewall, that isn't affecting this problem as it exists both with and without the firewall.
I've tried going to Map Network Drive, map a shortcut to web folder / ftp site, then putting in \\<ip>\<folder name>, a method that, given that my friend at CMU can do it, should work... but for some reason it's not. I get the error "The network path was not found." Anyone have any clues as to what may be causing my difficulties? Thanks in advance...
