DENVER -- A man suspected of shooting Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Marc Cohn during an attempted carjacking was arrested after a 5 1/2-hour standoff with police.

Cohn, who had a hit with the song "Walking in Memphis" and won the Grammy for best new artist in 1992, was shot in the temple late Sunday when a man fired into his band's van in a parking garage.

Cohn, who is married to ABC news reporter Elizabeth Vargas, was treated at a hospital and released Monday. He canceled the remaining five stops on his tour with Suzanne Vega.

The bullet grazed Cohn's driver and tour manager Thomas Dube, who also was treated and released.

Maybe it'll give him inspiration to write some new songs. I liked the first two albums, not sure how many there are in total now - just found a couple decent songs in his "collection" on iTunes that I didn't already have. Guy has the voice, but chooses some real duds for songs (in my opinion, all art is subjective, blah blah)

Likely with a .22 or some other plinker of a caliber... those can easily lodge in bone instead of penetrating... however, the gift comes with the curse as well--if it DOES penetrate your skull, there's rarely an exit wound as a .22 round will usually ricochet around off the insides of your skull which pretty much ensures your fate.
