That's some stone-cold horseshit. Local hotels should invoke the 3rd for anyone associated with this.

This is clearly the test before Trump starts the raids, the weapon law prohibition (except his faction) and well, the end of the democracy

Roughly 500 Marines based out of the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in California have been mobilized to respond to the protests in Los Angeles, according to three people familiar with the matter, and will join the National Guard troops that were activated by President Donald Trump over the weekend without the consent of California’s governor or the city’s mayor.

The deployment of the full Marine battalion marks a significant escalation in Trump’s use of the military as a show of force against protesters, but it is still unclear what their task will be once in LA, the sources said.

Is this the same thing?

They're "activated". Is that the same as "mobilized"? I thought there was supposed to be some big distinction between using the National Guard domestically and using conventional military? Is there a precedent for this? (Am sure I've heard of the National Guard being used to deal with civil disturbances and so on in the US, in the past, but isn't using actual marines a different thing?)

Someone take some bets or make a poll.

I say they kill one person within a week. Somewhat decent chance it breaks ten by the end of the month

As far as I know, there have only been 6 'official' instances of the US military being used on US soil. As a general rule, it does not go well. The national guard is far, far better trained and equipped to be active on US soil.

The optics of whatever it started out has turned toxic anyway, hopefully this whole thing just blows over as quickly as possible with nobody (else) getting hurt.

Someone on Reddit made a map of all the affected areas of Los Angeles. It is the purple dot in the middle of the map.

Yes you have to zoom in.

This might actually be wrong.

I talked with an illegal immigrant like 3 months ago who stated.. "How can Americans be so stupid?" I get healthcare for free, while my wife an American citizen has to pay a crazy amount for insurance and she can't afford the care I can.

Yes he's married to an American woman, has kids here, been here 25+ years, kids almost in college but he can never get a green card as he's black listed with a pending deportation order.
Uhh---- bull shit

I recognized it was maga folk ok? Did not connect to j6. Didnt look like no capitol to me. I actually thought it must be a counter protest or something and they were about to go at it.

Trump sat back and enjoyed watching crowds he'd incited to "fight like hell" as they rioted outside and inside the US Capitol on Jan. 6 2021, refusing to send in the National Guard while 140 Capitol policemen were injured or worse.

Trump has called for the arrest of Gavin Newsom.

He's not just bypassing the Governor of California in sending in 2000+ (as of today more than 4000) National Guard troops. Trump's also sending in 700 Marines.

President Trump never raised the possibility that he would order the California National Guard to quell protests in the state when he had a 40-minute phone call with Gov. Gavin Newsom on Friday, the governor said in an interview with The New York Times.

Gov. Newsom has not backed down on his argument that California is prepared to deal with these protests. He called the deployment of active-duty Marines to L.A. illegal and said they were being used as political pawns. Newsom said he would file a lawsuit to prevent the Marines from being deployed, similar to a lawsuit the state filed to block the use of National Guard troops.

People are more stupid than you think man..

Maybe not so in the mountains near you but here.. I see all kinds of stupid!
I see no other way to explain that Kamala Harris is not the POTUS than that Americans are very stupid by and large.

A very very smart friend of mine told me, "most people are OK until they open their mouth."
