The Army's 250th birthday is kind of a big deal to them. The celebration has been in planning for several years. I look forward to watching it.
What the army had been planning until Trump returned to office was way more modest than what's happening now. Would they like the bigger event? Sure and it coincides with Trump's long burning desire for a big military parade ever since he went to Bastille Day in France and was super envious of Macron.
I personally do not love big military parades unless a war has just been won because the general vibe I get is this:

To the extent that protests or acts of violence directly inhibit the execution of the laws, they constitute a form of rebellion against the authority of the Government of the United States.
That was just some tourists on a peaceful unguided tour of the capital building. Not like the rampaging marxists DEI hordes who have already burned down half of LA.The whitehouse has declared the protests in LA as a form of rebellion.

Sorry, it is Fox NewsFollowing violent anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles on Saturday night, FBI Director Kash Patel warned "if you assault a law enforcement officer, you’re going to jail—period."
I don't know what was planned as opposed to what's being done now, but overall I have no issue with a military parade. I have respect for the majority of people that join the armed forces and have no issue at all with throwing them a party. What the army had been planning until Trump returned to office was way more modest than what's happening now. For more than two years, the Army has been planning national, global and even interstellar aspects of the celebration — an Army astronaut on the International Space Station will be phoning in, Mr. Warren said.
But those planned celebrations focused on festivals, a postal stamp, various fun runs, military bands and the like. At some point this year, Army officials said, a military parade in Washington appeared in the plans.
Careful, you call something a rebellion you might get one.The whitehouse has declared the protests in LA as a form of rebellion.

I doubt they knew Trump was going to be president when the planning started several years ago.It isn't a military parade, it's trump's.
I doubt they knew Trump was going to be president when the planning started several years ago.
By all accounts, it has changed significantly since Trump got elected, on his behest. I'm sure that's all unsubstantiated rumors from anonymous sources to you, of course.I doubt they knew Trump was going to be president when the planning started several years ago.
Surely you can provide evidence the same parade was planned before Trump took office as the one that is planned now. Then maybe you would have a point.I doubt they knew Trump was going to be president when the planning started several years ago.
Also, to echo FDC and Welshbloke, will people please stop calling it "Marshall law"? The term is even spelled correctly in the thread title, for God's sake!
Again, I'm not making any predictions, it's impossible to know. Depends on the actions and attitudes of thousands of individuals (on 'both sides') in a multitude of interactions. But your comment here is exactly what was believed when the troops were sent into Northern Ireland. They were actually welcomed at first, by Catholics who thought they'd be their protectors. Then Bloody Sunday happened.
So the issue is that the parade may have evolved due to Trumps influence?Surely you can provide evidence the same parade was planned before Trump took office as the one that is planned now. Then maybe you would have a point.
Fuck off, Nazi.So the issue is that the parade may have evolved due to Trumps influence?
That seems likely as whoever ended up being the sitting president at the time would almost certainly be invited to be a part of the celebration. It's part of that whole "commander in chief" thing.
You fellows need to grow up and get a grip. This kind of crap is petty, and your disdain is meaningless.
Uhm, surely you realize doing this is not fun for the military and is actively a huge pain in the ass for everyone involved, right?I don't know what was planned as opposed to what's being done now, but overall I have no issue with a military parade. Trump literally fired hundreds of thousands of government workers in the name of saving money, yet we have the money for something like this? He conjured up a fake economic emergency to enact tariffs on anyone and everyone, yet we have the money for something like this?So the issue is that the parade may have evolved due to Trumps influence?
