That was just another staged Trump political pep rally. Trump doesn't do crowds where he will be booed. He's a coward. I wouldn't be surprised if he hand picked the troops standing behind him. He does this for every fucking rally he has. Due to his extreme malignant narcissism Donald can't handle audiences that don't fawn over him like MAGA cultists. Trump sees the military as simply props and suckers and losers. Most are playing along. But no one in the military is going to give up their benefits and early retirements for a felonious conman like Trump.

The military is supposed to act in a neutral way and be apolitical. These kids booing things from the media to Joe Biden was disgusting to see. Having your own views is fine, but the uniform is apolitical and supposed to above the fray. To see that yesterday was just SAD! Those troops may have been screened for partisan ideology, but they weren’t screened for smarts. Wiser experienced soldiers know better than to weigh in on charged political situations and would’ve stood silent. The military faces a choice: they can serve the Constitution, or they can serve the criminal, Trump. They can’t serve both.

Hopefully major networks opt to cover sports and other things on Saturday rather than Trump's Worship Parade.

Donald Trump: -

"We have tanks, we have planes, we have all sorts of things, and I think it is going to be great!"

Trump sounds like a 6-year-old who's having his school friend stay overnight.

Trump will demand "No taco trucks within 10 miles of MY parade!

Kristi Noem will be dressing up in Queen Elizabeth's Royal Military Uniform for the parade....so will Lindsey Graham.

Embarrassing the United States is Trump's and todays Republicans specialty.

Republican Congressman Darrell Issa, calls people defending their homes and each other the very definition of insurrection.
Clearly a full endorsement of active military controlling America's streets, to enforce the President's will on the American people.

Remember that, Democrats. If we ever have an election and the White House again. The military is to act for domestic policy. By force.

Or, you could just look at it in the opposite way: Show it all, and let the people see the true Trump: Power mad, narcisistic right wing dictator who flaunts the military like communist China, Russia, and North Korea. And they should also emphasize the cost, and just how much military resourced this parade is using.

Hegseth confirms he's a clueless idiot during questioning by senatorTammy Baldwin:

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is being ridiculed by social media users after failing to cite the provision of the Constitution which provides a Presidential administration with the authority to deploy active duty Marines to state neighborhoods

Proving that LT Whiskey-leaks (or any other cabinet member) is a moron/unqualified isn't news and scores ZERO points in the big game. It's a given and doesn't matter one bit to Trump's voters. Independents generally don't care, or, they care less about that than they do whatever single issue it is at the top of their interest lists.

It's being reported that Trump is going to the Kennedy Center to see "Les Misérables", a play about a mass uprising against a tyrannical king.

Irony is truly dead.
1) Everyone else with a ticket should cancel, leaving Trump alone in the hall.
2) The cast should also skip out, leaving the headsman on stage with the guillotine, chopping watermelons in half for two hours.

That would have been neat.

Taking his seat for the opening night of Les Misérables, the Associated Press reported that Trump was met with a mix of cheers and boos, as well as an unexpected parade of drag queens who sashayed past the first couple, seemingly in protest of Trump’s previous vow of “NO MORE DRAG SHOWS, OR OTHER ANTI-AMERICAN PROPAGANDA.”

In addition, a dozen performers — from major cast members to ensemble performers — planned to sit out the show after being given the option not to perform on the night Trump was in the house to enjoy what he has said is one of his favorite musicals. The show about 19th century France features a song Trump has played at his rallies in the past, “Do You Hear the People Sing?,” a revolutionary anthem inspired by the 1832 rebellion against King Louis-Phillipe of France.

The song’s stirring lyrics about rising up against oppressive regimes has often been employed at pro-democracy protests around the globe, and on Wednesday one patron reportedly shouted “Viva Los Angeles” as Trump left the presidential box for intermission, a seeming reference to the now nearly week-long protests in that city over the administration’s immigration raids.

In his second term, Trump — who admittedly had never attended a performance at the Kennedy Center in his first term, or ever — has swiftly moved to remake the organization in his own image. After installing himself as chairman of the Center, Trump also placed a number of loyalists on the typically non-partisan board and vowed to remove “woke” shows from the roster. Subsequently, nearly two dozen events have been canceled or postponed, a number out of protest at Trump’s takeover, including Hamilton, the National Youth Poet Laureate Commemoration, Saigon Nights, as well as shows by Peter Wolf, Low Cut Connie, Rhiannon Giddens, Issa Rae and many more.

Republicans are experts at redefining anything to suit their current narrative. They've done it with things like

insurrection
woke
racism
patriotism
the Constitution

When will Martian Law be declared?
I will do you one better.
When was the last time the United States made a formal Declaration of War?

Perhaps the executive branch has long abandoned formal declarations when it comes to using military force. And we must look to their actions, not their words.

I don't think Trump knows the plot of Les Misérables. He’s the bad guy.

It's been reported the theater was half empty and the principal cast members skipped the performance. There were still resounding Boos. Drag queens showed up and got more cheers.

I assume Trump had to be held back from climbing into the orchestra pit and taking over from the 1st chair flutist.

I wonder how much Trump needed to pay Melania to be there with him?

It wouldn't surprise me if he's never actually seen Les Mis and just says it's his favorite because he knows that's a respectable answer.

My understanding is that he's seen it several times and plays the soundtrack.

In case anybody ever wondered how dense he really is the famous subtlety of Victor Hugo is apparently lost on him.

Sadly laws seem to matter less and less as time goes by.

Trump has set so many bad precedents for future presidents that we are bound to have another wannabe king in the future.

We should probably just abolish the office and establish a Parliament.

A reporter there asked him who his favorite character in the play was and he had no clue and turned to Melania for the answer.

Jean Valjean, Javert, characters, identify? What are all these strange names and words you are asking about?

His brilliant mind is still focused on how to keep submarines underground longer.

And this new term he just found.. groceries
