Anyone have an idea on how to do the following:


"You have to be able to count by threes in the estonian version of
hexadecimal,
using bit reversal".

Any clues on what estonian math is, and samples?


Someone sent me the above email and there is prize if i can figure it out(its not cash), but I have now Idea how to do or what estonian math is.

How do you even know its a math question to begin with??? bit reversal? hex? mabbe its a computer question.

I dont know exactly what is being asked for, but I can make a guess.

First, consider what it means to count by threes in hex:

00

09
0C
0F
12
15
18
1B
1E
21

bit reversal is a pretty straightforward idea. It means you flip the binary number around...

so for example:

11100110 --> 01100111

If these numbers are written in hex it would be

E5 --> 57

I dont know what the hell estonian hex is. I dont think its any real computer terminology. But I can make a guess:

The traditional Estonian alphabet doesnt use the letter C. Maybe this means you are supposed to use the symbols:

0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,A,B,D,E,F,G

instead of

0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,A,B,C,D,E,F



Maybe if you write down the sequence of numbers you get from this, if will spell out something meaningful (i.e. the answer...)

Are you sure that bit reversal always means invert each value? Because it could also (possibly) mean to switch the Least and Most Significant Bits as well as all between (i.e. reverse the binary number --> bit reversal?). Usually, when you flip the bits, they use that term (flip) or the term 'inversion'.

Just a heads up.

Isnt that what I did? I thought I tried to describe bit reversal as basically writing the thing backwards bit by bit. I am not inverting any of the bits as far as I know.
