More accurately I think they saw the player base drop through the floor from the wipe and horrible economy/grind combined with people peeling off for borderlands 2 so they decided to "accidentally" add people to the beta.

Yeah I played a few matches, saw the gain in my founders atlas and was like "no, no that's ok. I'll wait till you adjust it up."

Triple the income and it would be near perfect. I didn't expect the 1 million credit gain that was there from the start...that was way too much. But having to play over 100 matches just for an XL engine? Seriously? No way.

I'll be in a good spot. I dont mind spending a small amount of my founders MC for a high priced Assault to sell for CBills. If only for the sake of time. I dont have the time to grind 100 matches to afford things. I want to hop in and play. a 265XL suites quite a few of my builds.

How are you guys joining games together? I have not yet seen a way.

in game, add your friends. once you have your friends in your friends list, send an invite to join your group. once your group is together, you cant launch until everyone is ready. once everyone is ready, you launch the group and everyone drops on the same side. Groups are obviously limited to 8.

hopefully the patch addresses some of the economy issues. Played on the weekend for the first time in about 4 weeks and while I did not go backwards in money, the only reason for that was the founder and VIP bonuses.

After 6ish games and some hardware changes (pull out weapons from the founder mechs I did not like, replace with heat sinks/armour), I think I was $100K up. No way I could get a custom weapon setup or a new mech with that economy system in any reasonable time frame. I would have used the credits and left the game once my VIP status expired. Not a long term reason to keep playing.

Though judging by my performance in those games, the regular players are not playing as I was averaging 2-3 kills per game, miles better than normal games (ie: one I had something like 4 kills and 3 assists)

only upside from the basic economy was no one was looking to side torso me for a cheap xl engine based kill

It did, game back on track with new patch, still lots of work to be done but economy better than last week for sure.

Forget the Flea, the bigger question is why the hell did they announce the Jagermech? It serves no purpose in this game. There's no aero and the maps aren't big enough for it to be effective support fire. It will be completely shredded by Jenners.

On the other hand
Focused on speed and firepower, the lightly armored Flea was an extremely rare sight until the arrival of the Wolf's Dragoons mercenary unit, with the design experiencing a revival as a inexpensive recon and anti-personnel militia 'Mech.
The Flea IS a really stupid choice to put in the game.

I'm almost happy enough with the Flea to forgive them for not having the Urbie.

The Flea (and any other "well, why did they bother with..." mechs) are there because, hopefully, groups will be matched based on BV and/or have to work within tonnage limitations.

Flea Army vs. Urbie Army. Can't wait...

To give everyone another mech to mount 2x Gauss rifles to.

Also, RAC/5s

i cant wait to get me some Jagermech. 4 AC2s will be fun.

I agree, trolling people with a 3 x AC2 Dragon i built was a blast. No one knows what kinda AC you are hitting them with they just freak out, especially when you chainfire them and are hitting them 3 times a second with AC blasts.

i have one of those Dragons. in fact, me and one other in my group both roll out and stick together every now and then. blasting guys with a combined 6 ac2s is funny.

I did that last night for change with a hunchback. Tried with 3x ac/5's but while it did a little more damage, the need for a 150 engine and some armour loss was too much.

but going the 3x ac/2's, 6 tons of ammo, good engine (200 standard IIRC) and a good amount of armour, I think I was pissing off light mechs left right and centre. they would just run . Down side, on rotating fire, accuracy at range is really really bad. I ended up just firing for effect at times. 300+ rounds is a lot to get through, even at 3 per second.

no sure if getting a dragon mech would add much to the setup, but really want to waste MC's to find out

Just tried a Hunchback with 3x AC2s for fun.

The heat in this game is ridiculous. I overheated and had an ammo explosion in no time flat from firing AC fucking 2s? REALLY?

Mine did that with the 150 sized engine (engine's have inbult heat sinks so need a large one), but I found with a 200 it was better. I had a heat rating of "2" for what that was worth and on the volcanic map I could still overheat without too much trouble. Still it is addressable
