sorry guys leaving this here for when they remove my post again i can copy/paste it back to the MWO forums

Ok lets try this again, since you ninja removed my last post, not even locked or deleted but poof gone. And it wasnt out of control or even had a single troll response, just people asking for info. And other CW posts are still here i dont know WTF you guys are trying to accomplish but you are way beyond the brush CW under the rug and hope everyone forgets about it stage of the game.

So whats going on with CW, when will it be implemented, is the 90 days after OB timeline still in effect, and what are any details you have that you can give us now on how it will work.

Please do not remove this post, again.

I already know Garth cant answer this

Same as usual, only one request: No Community Warfare questions please. I feel awful that I cannot answer them now and I hate passing them all by. Cheers everyone!"

im hoping another dev can step up and answer it.

how long did WoT take to get community warfare?

Can't see to find out but the whole Clan Wars thing has been down for months at a time for maintenance and huge, feature-breaking bug fixes.

Wiki suggests that at least the Devs had access to CW material in February 2011 and from an EU friend that plays CW, his best guess is May-June 2011.

World of Tanks went into Closed Beta around June/July 2010, Open Beta in January 2011 and released in April 2011 (if my memory serves me well).

So 3-4 months after starting Open Beta?

Which is fine, same as MWO stated 90 days after OB. I just dont undersand why they are now refusing to answer questions about it.

The obvious reason is because the answers would be poorly received. This game really seems to be going in the wrong direction. I'm having a hard time pushing myself just to spend $7 for more mech bays. I wish I could wait to see what comes with the next patch but they'll likely pull the MC bonus during the update. I love Mechwarrior, but this game, not so sure.

I don't understand the fascination with Streak SRM 2's in this game

I perfer any advantage I can get when having to play with a ping of nearly 300ms.

Nothing more irritating than firing and having a long delay so the shot misses as the enemy walks backwards slowly (when shooting face to face with heavey's / assults at near point blank).

Yeah, the answer must be bad, i have had no less than 30 CW threads deleted from the MWO fourms over the last 48 hours and am having PM conversations with others on MWO(mechwarrior buddah and lonestar to name a few) who each have had over 5 CW threads locked each. Not a single one was turning into a troll thread or getting out of hand. We just want answers, and PGI is refusing to give them, and lockinf/deleting all threads about it.

I even had a mod PM me and ask me to stop making them, i told him i have no issue with stopping as soon as i get a answer to my question of is it going to get in game and approximately when, no answer = me not stopping. They can ban my account if they want and ill take them to court to get my founders money back.

Im not going to stick around and wait forever i can tell you that much. Either its in by early Q1 next year or im out. Not being strung along not going to happen done that to many times in the past with games.

I think this is just the beginning of desperation mode to be honest. Until Battletech is brought back to the game, I am still out.

your loss i suppose if you just want to brush off major changes (for what looks like the better) as desperation. videogame mechwarrior will never be a perfect translation of the universe.

QFT.

The developers really should have a hard sequence of planned feature implementation that they follow. It seems that they are trying to balance portions of the game that will just need to be rebalanced once additional promised features are implemented. Sure some combat balancing is necessary, but as they add new weapons, mechs, equipment, it seems like all new tweaks are necessary.

This is the advantage of operating in a beta, the userbase expects to lose their short term gains, because temporary imblanaces will be fixed in the future, and nobody wants to have a handful of people gain unreasonable edge because they were able to exploit an imbalance early in development. Their switch to "Open Beta" which will maintain persistance of user data destroys this capability. They now have to constantly tweak the game to keep the playerbase happy, and cannot devote the resources they need to get the greater metagame going. It feels like they are just digging themselves into a deeper and deeper of a hole.

Which is why I along with many others said they should not have moved into essentially production at the time they did. They at least allowed us to not start the premium time after the massive backlash, but they didn't understand the ramifications that you have just pointed out. While it was still "beta" and things got screwed up, it didn't matter if they were out of balance because in the end, nothing was really effected because there would be a data wipe in a week or two. But as it currently stands, they expect real money to be spent on things that they are changing at their whim. Things which are completely unbalanced, untested, and even unplayed ("Wow, the mech shakes that hard when it gets hit with an AC/2?", "Wow, no wonder everyone uses LRM's!", "Wow, we can't let double heat sinks do double the work, then no one will be buying their ammo anymore and won't need to buy MC to buy their mechs"....)

Ya all i have to say about those patch notes is this is going to turn into DDC atlas warrior online.

ECM overpowered and must have item, check.

All playes new or old will either get 8 mil after 25 games or just get a one time 8 mil cbill award, so everyone will be able to afford DDC atlas, check.

No repair/rearm so might as well field assault, check.

Lower base bonus and only really rewarded for kills and damage, which is easier to accomplish with a assault, check.

I forsee 60%+ of all mechs being dropped to be DDC atlas by next week.

Man this shit is getting just fucked up over on the MWO forums.

They have spent the last 45 min locking and deleting all threads discussing the upcoming patch.

Last time i checked the MWO forums were for discussing MWO. Why bother releasing patch notes early and then lock all threads discussing them it makes no sense whatsoever.

Im really not liking the Communist think only what we tell you to think forum moderation that MWO has had going on over the last week.

I love how passionate everyone is about this game. Rage on all fronts. And i can understand why people are rageing, but i guess i dont care too much. If things get out of wack to the point i can tell, i'll raise my eyebrow and do something else till the next fix. Not a big deal, its just a videogame.

Im excited about the removal of repair because it makes ferro and artemis useful. Ferro was next to useless for the gains it gave, and if you had more than 2 tons of Artemis ammo, you got crushed under the repair costs. Yes, it will completely change the meta of the game, but i dont believe it will become Atlas wars online. I guess time will tell.

It is damn easy to exploit the fact you get quick cash just for being presesnt for a match. Ive been using that fact to grind up my commandos. I dont repair or rearm them. Just jump in a match and go, trying to do as much spotting and damage as i can before i die. If we win, great! 200k for me. if we lose, oh well, 130K for me! Just rotate between all 3 commandos in quick order and im up 1.5 mil an hour. This is a problem. Most people just AFK or bot. changing to performance based rewards is a great change. But maybe i'll change my tune when i have a few bad matches and end up dead last in the rankings. we'll see.

It just drives me crazy when every single change they make is the end of mechwarrior online. its all doom and gloom. People bitch that the starting grind is too hard. they change it to make it easier of new people to get them going faster, people bitch that everyone will run an atlas right out of the gate. PGI is stuck between a rock and a hard place. they're damned if they do, damned if they dont. Im just glad they actually make decisions and change things that need fixed, even if its not done in the order the public wants, or the way they want it.

I dont think anyone has a issue with the help for new players(8 mil in 25 games).

But i think people complaining about removal of R&R have valid points.

As far as rewards being only damage and kill based i think this will be a good thing to stop botters/afk/farmers however its going to remove being a spotting based scout from being very good for making money. If you want to make money you will be forced into a larger mech that can carry more weapons, to get the higher damage totals.

What a craptacular misdirection patch. Still not on the roadmap: Netcode Fixing, Matchmaking, Community Warfare.

The core of the game still horribly broken or completely missing. MWO continues to disappoint over and over again.

The net code really messes up an otherwise entertaining game. A lot still needs doing to make the game last but that net code is crippling. I can't believe they released it like that and still haven't fixed it. Imo they have their priorities all screwy, but that didn't stop me enjoying the game.

I don't think we'll see nothing but Atlases until they correct the lag shield lights enjoy.

Right now, a squad of Ravens with ECM still trumps the Atlas. I see them a lot in pug games and it makes just stop playing. How they even decided to put ECM in play without fixing netcoding just show how stupid the developers are. They have no clue on game balance and what is important as a core mechanic of the game.

so should they put all their other employees that dont have the skill to fix the netcode on pause and not have them do anything? Will you scream that nothing is being updated or fixed/tweaked if so? They only have finite resources to fix certain things. Art guys, map makers and the like... do you think they have the skill set to program a games netcode? Ignorant statements such as yours have been screamed over and over again and its getting tiresome.
PGI doesnt have the best track record, and i will agree this game needed about another 6 months in the oven. But they have publisher deadlines and employees to pay. They can only go so long before they need revenue. And quite frankly id rather them release SOMETHING than to just run out of funds and scrap the whole thing. Work is being done, improvements are being made and fixes are on the way.
