I've e-mailed them back and forth a couple of times now and apparantly it wasnt that i was discussing the lag its that i mentioned that people were abusing the lag shield by using intentionally high ping.

Someone asked me how people would do that in the fourms and i mentioned using your brain would be a good start, just download some torrents or write a small script to generate some network activity.

Apparantly intentionally high ping is a known exploit and mentioning it or how to accomplish it is a 24 hour bannable offence, because im sure no one knows downloading torrents raises your ping its a huge secret.......

Anyway, is there any way to change the founder's mech and can we still do it? Hunchback was really a terrible choice with the way the maps are designed. Thinking I'll switch to Jenner or just give in and go Atlas.

I think anyone who owns a computer and plays games, and downloads torrents(so 90% of people) are aware that torrents slow down your internet connection.

DHS just goes to show how broken the heat system is. As an experiment I loaded up an Atlas with 24 DHS, 2 ERLLs, 2 MLs, and 2 SRM 6s. Still have heat issues when shit hits the fan despite my weapons only creating 36 heat and being able to dissipate 48.

I don't expect to be able to run around and not worry about heat at all, but I expect to get more than 2 alpha strikes out before I'm near shutdown.

DHS aren't working right. I believe the DHS located within the engine are only counting as singles or something.

Am I the only one getting worse performance over the last two patches? Every time I look across the center of the maps now my GPU usage tanks and my fps drop into the 20's. If I look off to the left or right my fps shoot back up towards 60. I was hoping to avoid a CPU upgrade before Haswell, but I have to assume it's my Phenom II (as opposed to my 7850) that's bogging me down.

Pretty much the only way to have fun right now. As a pug, you sometimes get fair match ups when you don't run into premades so that a plus. As a premade, all you do is faceroll into a win. You can run in circles and your team will still win. Personally I like a challenge in the game, I know some people enjoy pugstomping daily though. Who knows why.

i wanted to try this last night, but it got late.

I blew 21 MILLION on customizing 2 mechs. crazy.

my performace is still decent. Phenom 2 550 and 7870. i really need a quad core though.

oh... and XL engine weight have been modified. the XL245 that i used before weighed 8 tons. now it weighs 11.

the mechlap needs work. its a pain in the ass trying to get your mech how you like it when you have to save when switching over to see if endo or double heat sinks would help you out. Needs to be all one thing so you can make the changes, see how much it will cost, THEN then save it or not. i blame that for having to blow a bunch of cash and end up with build i wish i could change after the fact when i see they really wount work out too well.

My 2x ER PPC founders cat is fun now. tossed in the max engine and double heat sinks. runs in the 70skph range and can blast things across the map. Now... if only my PPCs would not miss when they hit dead center and just seem to teleport right through.

Working as intended. 10 effective heat sinks are included with any engine. In addition, certain engines include "free" heat sinks (usually 2, the 360xl has 3)--those, plus any added on, are working properly as doubles.

Easy math--look on the summary screen; your total effective heat sinks = 10 + 2*(# shown - 10).

Pug rolling is relatively boring, which is why we arrange matches

Costs are out of control--I usually net $100k-150 per match; it costs $1M to switch an Atlas from normal --> endo. And those costs are repeated EVERY time for EVERY mech.

Lights and mediums got a HUGE boost this patch; DHS + Endo + XL + NO COLLISION

People are discovering that DHS are not working as intended. It appears the 10 heat sinks in the engine are single heat sinks and any you add beyond those 10 are then counted as double heat sinks. Here are numbers I've compiled from taking an Atlas on each map, standing still, and firing 2 Large Lasers then seeing how long it takes for my heat to drop back down to what it was before I fired.

2xLL 30 SHS 15 DHS

Caustic 5.4 8.0
River 4.6 6.7
Forest 4.6 6.7
Frozen 4.6 6.7

As you can see, 15 DHS performs worse than 30 SHS. These numbers line right up with 10 SHS and 5 DHS (20 heat dissipation total).
