Memory "Dumps" ????????

Hi there........

Need some help..............Ever since building this PC I have had issues with it. I keep getting similar messages below. Memory dumps?

I have a ASUS P5W Deluxe MB with 2GB Corsair memory, Conroe E6600, no overclocking, 250GB Seagate SATA III drive, MSI X1900XT 512MB video card, and a 550W ASUS power supply.

I have done the 24 hour memtest with perfect results. I have tried a new video card with no difference. Most of the time when this "dump" happens, it screws up my XP installation, slows the computer down bad, and many times I am forced to re-install XP and/or repair the MBR using the recovery console.

I am about to condem the hard drive....................have to try something..............

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for any help................

Have you tried running 'chkdsk /r'? Do you have another drive you can try using temporarily?

No and NO....................when I do the checkdisk I do however put a check mark in each box so Windows will fix everything............I think this is what you mean?

Yeah, although I was talking about the command line version. Start, run, type 'cmd', then type 'chkdsk /r'

Check the Event Viewer to see if anything there suggests the problem. Since I have a hunch that the problem is hardware related, I doubt that the answer is found in the EV, but it is a place to start. Then look in C:\Windows for Memory.dmp or in the Minidump for .dmp files. For these to be of any use, you will need to install and setup Windbg to analyze the files. 0xF4 is not a very precise error, but you might get a clue here:
