Guys a very basic question...I have been out of the loop for sometime. So here goes:
In the older systems the memory multiplier options were 1T, 2T etc in the bios. Now with the new i7, the options are 6X, 8X etc. Was wondering if anyone could explain the difference and the reason for the change. I have been reading a lot and using google at will. Not able to come up with a simple explanation other than the statememt that 6X and 8X are the best to OC and the uncore multiplier needs to be atleast 2 times the memory multiplier..
I do not work in the IT field and this is purely my hobby...so if I used any of the technical jargon in the wrong context please overlook....
Thanks in advance
