Memory Shootouts?

There any memory comparisons like across the board. I want to determine what the best ram is for the buck without spending twice as much for ram that will get me nothing more if the system I am building cant use it. You get the idea. Anything like that out there other than reading reviews on NewEgg?

Sorry if this isn't at all what you wanted but anad's did a good article on different memory types when they did their fx60 review I believe. The Expensive OC memory will just give you a very small unoticable and in my opinion not worth it increase. Versus non specially picked memory at the same speed and timing settings.

Some things you might want to go by... AMD chips reach their potential with better memory timings not necc higher speeds. I get 10 - 15fps better divx rendering with 1T command rate and 2.0 cl 3 RCD 3 RP 6RAS with mem at 174 vs memory at 2T command rate 2.5cl 4 4 8 clocked at 226. This is with value ram kingmax! Computer FEELS a lot snappier too. The COMMAND RATE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT!! Latency is of secondary imortance. There is a memory timing paper at cruicial.com in pdf format that explains it in detail and runs tests with different settings. I think there is a more pronounced effect with memory clockspeed with intel chips. Go to newegg the reviewers there will usually list what timings they got at what speed with the chips.

Either way I really think you should just get memory that you are sure that that will run with a 1T command rate paired with 2 cl latency. The other timings don't really matter at all. Then just take a look at whatever clock frequencies you can afford. These memory timings I quoted are the final ones on my board after whatever overclocking you to to the FSB and with the mem divisor. With AMD 64 chips I think there is a diminishing return after you go above 200mhz for the memory timings. Unless you got tons of cash then just get the bestest!
