Memtest86 errors

Well my system is relatively unstable and when it locks up its has a weird pattern across the screen and have to have to restart manually. I ran memtest and i have five errors, four of them are #5 errors and they are at "166 182 931 947" MB areas on the sticks. And a #6 error at 166MB . I have 1.5 gigs on 3 sticks of DDR so would this mean the first 2 sticks are bad?

Run the test with one stick at a time and see if you get errors. Might be one stick or the sockets. Also, if you are overclocking, reset the settings to the original and see if you still get errors.

Yeah, I would definitely test both stick at a time at stock speeds to determine the problem. What you describe is defnitely characteristic of bad memory. Also, I would recommend using some canned air and being liberal with the application to the memory sockets. Good luck!
