I got one where I work to play with and use, just fired it up yesterday. I'm still learning my way around it, haven't even scratched the surface of all it's features yet. Using the quick launch buttons to open Word, Excel etc. work fine. The scroll wheel on the left is a little too fast for me (probably adjustable, haven't RTFM'd yet).
One really nice thing, if your not familiar with keyboard shortcuts for Windows, they are stenciled right on the keys (Ctrl - S = Save for instance).
The keys have a nice tactile feel and are pretty silent, MS has always made quality hardware.
Since I didn't have to pay for the keyboard, overall I'd have to say I like it. If I was buying one for myself.........heck, I don't even know how much they cost but I suspect the price would be a strong deterrent.
