I never got into Port, thanks to a first bad experience with a cheap one that was way too sweet.


but I did get into Late Harvest Riesling instead. A good quality one (>$20) can be well balanced (not too alcoholic or sweet).

those Innisilken Icewine are also a good choice to go for a dessert wine.

Gah, I much prefer port to ice wines. Ice wines are by far the sweeter.

Fonseco makes a good enough 20 year old Tawny.

I have actually fermented some ruby port myself.

You might also like banyuls if you like port.

I love a good port also - though only the first glass has to be good. After that it doesn't matter
I prefer ruby over tawny ... no reccomendations at the moment, as I've been drinking mostly homebrew port lately. It's actually pretty passable.
