oh, its 200mm not 280. that makes more sense. It's 300mm with the angling of the UFP/LFP, not 300mm actual thickness.

I'm currently grinding the 4502 B so I'm tickled about the armor buff. Maybe I can finish the grind before patch 9.3 when they decide to nerf something on it? LOL

The RHM and the waffle tanks are getting gun nerfs. People who hate them are going to be happy. I have them but I have to admit that tier 10 waffle is a nasty mofo and hard to spot.

hard to spot? i find the exact opposite. even with camo paint, net and 100% camo crew i'm spotted so easily even when playing the draw distance game

I'm not convinced the waffles is getting a nerf. 1 less round in the chamber, but a lot of the time you didn't use all 6. And it now has an 8 second faster reload.

yea it's a buff, only takes 3-4 to kill a tank, rather have the reload shortened and lose a shell

only time it may get hairy is if you're fighting more than 1 tank

Yeah. Either way it doesn't affect me too much. I don't play my waffles that much, but when I do I always use the 150mm anyway. More fun for me (on a tank that isn't really my playstyle).

Yeah that changes things. Certainly a nerf now. Might even make the 150 a competitive option (and I like it more anyway)

no reason not to use the 150 now, just expensive and with all the bonus credit missions gone, most people will stick with the 12.8 still as it's cheaper
certainly the wtf is going the way of the foch155 and 183, from fun tanks, to useless and definitely never used in clanwars again

I don't play clan wars so I don't have a good handle on what is good for that.

I just got the 183 so I'm sad to see the nerf. Haven't had that many games in it. I still like my JP E100 even though I know it's not great. My E3 probably has my best tier X win ratio. Waffles is probably my least favorite.

i want an e3 but can't stomache grinding thru the t28 and t95....
it's to easy to destroy a t95 and since it's to slow to relocate i'd probably stick near spawn every game...

thats the pitfall of the T95. Just pick a direction and hope you encounter something before the game's over or before you're swarmed. It's great on maps like himmelsdorf though, I hate seeing that thing down the side alley.

The E3 is quite a beast. Great armor, great gun, and not bad maneuverability for all the armor it has. Don't get me wrong, it's still slow, but not so slow that it can't react to things.

I actually love the T95. It is my most played vehicle with almost 600 battles. I have about a 55% win ratio with it (my overall is 53.5%, so it does above my average for me).

The thing is, a lot of players thing you have to spawn camp because it is so slow. I disagree. The T95 should be played very aggressively to get the most out of it. It is a great vehicle most of the time when played in this way, and can have a real impact on the battle.

If the enemy is firing a lot of gold, you might struggle. But if you wiggle a lot, people will bounce a ton of shots trying to fire for your cupola.

About 25% of the time though you're just too slow or get swarmed by mediums, or get one shotted by a tier X arty. So you have to deal with that frustration.

Here is an example from one of my replays:

I would say the T95 is a very fun grind.

As for the rest of the tree.

Jackson - Great tank. Essentially just a slower hellcat that has some armor. Not enough armor to count on for any particular shot, but enough to count on to bounce at least a few per battle (more than the hellcat). It's almost like playing a slow hellcat with 300 extra HP or something.

Still say the Hellcat is better because of that speed, but the Jackson still has that great gun, and is more survivable. After 181 battles, 62.3% win rate with it.

T25AT - Not a huge fan of this tank. Has decent speed and gun depression, but very weak armor. Top gun is pretty decent. Overall, I'd say this is an average grind. Not bad, but not a tank you're probably going to want to keep (whereas I kept my Jackson). 145 battles, 53% win rate.

T28 - Complete turd. This is the worst tank in the grind IMO. Armor looks alright on paper but really it sucks as it has HUGE weak spots. Gun is OK but slow rate of fire.

This thing is almost as slow as the T95, without the amazingly good gun and great armor. Sold it as soon as I could. 82 battles, 43 percent win rate.

Anyway, if you decide to go down that path, really the only thing that is very painful is the T28 IMO. And the E3 at the end is a great Tier X (That one 187 battles, 57% win rate).

i pretty much solo t95s all the time, if i have the HP in a heavy i take the shot and sidehug/flank it to death, if im in a medium, do the same. if i can't take a hit i just peek a boom the cupolas.

So I have started a new philosophy in this game. Play until I lose. One loss, quit for the night. Keeps me sane. Might be the first game, might be the 20th.

if i play solo, it's the other way around ugh, never ending

Well, you don't usually play against yourself in this game.

Yeah, that T28 I didnt like it either. The T28 Proto is a much better TD although its slow too. The T28 has good strong armor frontally but you either get blasted by arty or enemy tanks just swarm around you easily. It just cant defend itself when the battle comes to you. It was a bitch to grind for me as well.

One of the best things about the E3, by the way, is that the tumor on the top isn't a weak spot, but you get a lot of people bouncing off of it because they think it is.

yeah I used to shoot at that tumor, assuming it was somewhat like the E5. Now frontally I only aim for the left or right side of the lower glacis. The center of the lower glacis seems harder to pen maybe because it is more rounded.

Yup. It doesn't matter the angle (side, top, rear) there is always a better option than the tumor. From the front, it will be between 300-400mm of armor, depending on what spot you hit. It has its own gun mantlet! The side will be between 230-260, whereas the side armor is around 150.

You are correct in that the lower right and left of the lower glacis is generally the best. The rights spots there will be around 240mm of penetration.

There is also a spot right in the center that is 240mm, but it is a thin strip. The 350mm of [effective] armor actually is a strip that extends into the lower glacis from the upper. You have to shoot right below that. Too much below, and the angle becomes too much, and the armor value jumps back up to 350mm+. So generally better to just go lower right or left.

I thought the T95 would suck, but I have enjoyed playing it. It's painfully slow, but I like it. The T28 though, now that was a POS I decided to use a bunch of free xp to get rid of.

Don't play much anymore, but hope to have some E3 fun sometime soon The E4 is alright and all, but that tumor
