it was there first?

but i agree, no point going down that line at all, go thru the scout line as they're all great/fun tanks

tier for tier, the original line is outclassed by the new lights

I just unlocked the T21, should I purchase it or grab the Chaffee instead and go up that line? Also, I gotta say ARTY exp grind is ridiculous. Even if you hit 5 tanks and kill a few it seems like the exp gain is minimal. Took me forever to grind 13k to unlock the M41.

As I noted in a post above, I did more than twice the exp in arty of a tank and got less exp - apparently they get half of the exp. So ya, it's slower.

Played it.

Did not like.

If I want something sluggish I'll go play mechwarrior. Thats more entertaining overall.

Played what? The T69? Cause I really hope you're not responding to the OP which was posted in 2010 and is very much no longer relevant

Yeah to do that amount of damage you kinda have to get lucky in several respects. I started getting excited at about the 5k damage mark, thinking I could get my mastery. Wasn't expecting 9.5k by the end though.

Finally got around to watching the replay.

LOL

113 and Jagtiger see you and think, yeah... no... reverse. As you turn around.

The one that made me laugh, Leopard 1. He's thinking, I got your ass now... oh wait... reverse! REVERSE!

Well instead of taking peoples advice and getting the Chaffee I went ahead and grabbed the T21 for progression sake. It was an almost instant regret. Its got a standard 76mm gun that can pen if your lucky, gets rid of smaller tanks no problem. But the T21 just isn't as fast or mobile as the Chaffee, to grind this till 60,000exp is going to be a chore. I guess I am going to try to learn how to be a better scout and see how that works out for me.

Does anyone like the new Mittengard map? I think it's pure chaos. I hope they don't go this way for new maps.

Went down and bought a Pz II to platoon with my bro, gosh that tank is fun.

And in the wtf were they thinking news. We had a ctf map and it was down to the last few tanks, we had an at 2, they had a pz I c and a kv-1. At 2 is putting to the flag and spots both in front. He decides to charge the I c allowing the kv-1 to get behind him. i'm still scratching my head on that one

got the chaffee this weekend. I don't know why I passed up this gem for so long, its one of my favorite scouts for the tier now. Only down side is it can't pen most things its fighting, I had a hard time even penning arty while driving around, and the dispersion on the stock gun is pretty crazy.

Also anybody know how to fix the stuttering on the replays?

the new brit TD line appears to be as paperthin as the german wtf line. i haven't had any issues pen'ng anything from that new line.

i sold the m41 bulldog, and picked up the t49. using heat it isn't to bad if you can get a rear shot on something. the gun needs to be up close and personal, no other way to play it

Yeah the new brit line has pretty much no armor. Only thing to remember is which ones have enough armor to resist HE and which do not. FV 4005 with its 14 mm of armor is HE all day. Conway with around 120 mm of turret armor, no.

A buddy of mine got me a Type 64 which is a light, learning to scout with it but i tell you tier 9 matches with heavy/td all over is some scary stuff. I feel like a roach when my little tier 6 is shoved into a tier 9 battle lol.

Is running the highland way the best way to play this tank?I found that just stopping so far has proven fatal,i guess camping near enemy is essential in this thing but its still a learning curve coming from russian heavy.

Try to stay at least 350 meters from the enemy (350 is pushing it depending on who it is). Note that the special thing about light tanks is that they keep their camo rating even while moving, so you can run around the edges a lot easier.

You get XP for spotting and having teammates do damage, so concentrate on that for the first part of the game. Even just spotting so everyone knows how the enemy is deploying is important. Seriously don't worry about doing damage for a while.

Once the game has developed, and some tanks have started to die, you can think about being opportunistic and taking down certain targets. Avoid mediums unless they are on low health. Prime targets are TD's without a turret, as you can get around their sides and they can't turn fast enough. But you have to wait for your opportunity. Don't press to early or you'll just get wiped out.

Keeping my distance i like to do surely,i don't fire much in my tanks but i love moving so i guess scouting could be my calling.I do have a terrible habit of rushing in but its sorta habit with heavy for me.Working on that with my t34-3 and even more so with the Type 64 now.

When you mention the edges, like the edges of the map where bush and trees often sit around? If i get spotted and fired on finding a good collection of bushes should easily keep me covered too?

The best way you can learn is by watching good players in scout tanks. Twitch is good if you catch someone good playing one, otherwise just search on Youtube for the tank you're interested in. FYI, scouts are the hardest class to do well in. Even the best players will have lower win rates in scouts than heavies/meds just because you can't carry matches as easily.

So I was offered a chance to play in a pro live WOT tournament in China this month. Everything paid for so I couldn't refuse. Should be a really interesting experience as we'll be facing the top teams from Russia and Asia. I'll take a bunch of pics and share when I get back.

Good luck!

I have said it before, I will say it again: I have played ultra competitive board/miniature games, but there is nothing compared to the stress of this game even in small little tournaments.

So I decided to give War Thunder Ground Forces a try, I must say, the damage model/system that they use is amazing. Instead of the health bars that WoT uses WT uses a penetration/crew system. You literally have to find the weak spots on each tank and try to pen it while also trying to kill crew members or modules. You get to see in bullet time where your shell went and what it did once it hit the tank. I am quite impressed, it kind of gives you a breath of fresh air compared to the standard pen/health system WoT uses.

How's that different from wot other than the hp? I shoot for ammo racks, engines and on the odd occasion the gun/loader?
