Dota 2's community isn't all that stellar once you start ranking up to mid level games. You'll get people that will give you some harsh responses if you fail to live up to their expectations.
Even more annoying if you are solo queue with 4 stacks on your team.
Lol is just more newbie friendly. You don't need to worry about denying and you can focus on last hits easily. You also don't lose gold when you die. Give it a try as your first moba.
