Isn`t that an oxymoron.....Where does a Mr. Coffee fit into all of this?
I decided to check that out. There was a thread here around 5 years ago that I just revisited:Spend ~100 and get a good burr grinder. Only grind however much bean you need for your pot of coffee and leave the whole beans in a sealed container that doesn't get exposed to a lot of heat or light (NOT A FRIDGE OR FREEZER).
I use about 5 different methods of coffee depending on my desired type of coffee and amount. Most days I use a bodum style pour over to make about a quart of coffee for my wife and I, but also have moka, multiple french presses, multiple pour overs.

Coffee Grinders
It seems like after 5+ years of daily use, my Bodum Bistro Electric burr grinder is on the fritz. Anyone have a recommendation for a good replacement? I was looking at either: Cuisinart CBM-18N Capresso 560 Infinity Maybe a model I'm missing or should go for instead? I'm looking to keep it...forums.anandtech.com
In that thread there was a lot of positive info on the Caprese 560 and I just ordered it.
Capresso 560.01 Infinity Conical Burr Grinder, Black
Should come in around a week. Today I ground a pound of whole beans in my blender. Then I compared that to store bought Folgers French Roast and it was uneven. I mean the Folgers was evenly ground and what I had was super fine to too coarse. There's no way I can make an even grind with my blade blender. I figue a conical burr grinder is going to grind relatively evenly. Appears to have 10 grinds to choose from. That's not a lot but I can probably deal with that with my brewing techniques... i.e. flame under my moka pot or preheat/stir/steep times with French press.
A pound of beans? How much coffee do you drink in a day?
Drink? The truly hardcore just snort it straight up.
Good Move, if I was into grinding my own coffee that is the way I would go!!I decided to check that out. There was a thread here around 5 years ago that I just revisited:

Well, my habit has been to grind 2lb at a time, refrigerate 1/2 of that in a full/packed quart container and keep the other 1/2 in a full/packed quart container on the shelf above my stove. The amount I use a day is probably about 1/2 cup of ground coffee.A pound of beans? How much coffee do you drink in a day?
My new Capresso conical burr grinder has revolutionized the way I make coffee. Still using the same SS mocha pot I've used since the middle 1980's. I grind fine, grind one cup's worth at a time (0.40 ounces of darkish roast beans). Brews a whole lot faster, doesn't clog my custom cut paper filters, makes a remarkably stronger cup of coffee for a given amount of beans. The grinder will, I figure, pay for itself in ~3 years in the cost saved in buying coffee beans.
I just bought a baratza encore grinder and it's a huge upgrade over my bodum burr grinder. Much more consistent grind and I already can taste the difference with my first cup brewed. Can't wait to dial it in more
