Really want a 27 inch so that i can use my PS4 and for my computer because my current montior is dying. Keep reading that 1080p on 27 inch is very bad for general computer usage such as edges being fuzzy. I currently use a basic 24 inch 1080p for my computer and everything looks fine.

My budget is £250 which doesnt allow me to get a 27inch 2560 1440. I could get a korean montior but the risk is too high for me.

Was thinking of buying the Asus montior or the acer montior which can be brough for £180 or any other montior which you might recommend. If i see see things become pixelatedi might just return it.

Asus VX279Q 27 inch IPS
or
Acer S276HLTMJJ 2

Any opinion please and if 27 inch on 1080p is a no no than can you please reccomend a good 24 inch instead.

I use a ASUS VS278. I love it, and I think it is a very good size. I do wish at times the resolution was higher, but it's perfect for video games. I notice no difference in the quality of this display to my older 22" ACER 1680x1050 display.

1080p is a TV standard, and as you apply it as a threshold in a monitor, you will get fuzzier as you go up in size. You can do a lot better than 1080p. 1080p is only 1920x1080 pixels. If you hold that constant and increase the screen size, the pixels will be bigger, and if you sit close to the monitor, they could appear less sharp.

BTW, I find nothing wrong with Samsung and LG monitors, and they are Korean.

This is the first time I hear about a 27-incher being "bad". I think it all depends on the quality of the panel and the hardware pushing the pixels. I have a 27-inch Acer, and it's nice and crisp.

OP, if you have a laptop capable of outputting 1080p, take it to a computer store and try several display monitors with it... see for yourself.

Should have stated what i mean by Korean montiors. The catleap and Qnix series montior.

if you type in 27inch on 1080p on google you get soo many mixed opinion. Most do state its good for gaming but sucks for desktop usage.

Think i might just fellow AnitaPeterson advice and visit some PC shops and see for myself.

I went from 1920x1080 to 2560x1440 (both monitors being 27 inchers) and am still blown away by the difference.

Anything above 24" needs more than 1080p when we're talking computer monitor viewing distances

If you get a 27" 1080P monitor, and run it at 1080P, there will be no fuzziness. Pixels will just be bigger. They will not be fuzzy, if you are feeding it 1920x1080, with correct settings (over HDMI, both Geforces and Radeons often act stupid, by default).

I decided to go 24", sacrific me pixels and get 1080P instead of 1920x1200, and wait out 28-30" w/ freesync/g-sync (or both techs failing, and 120Hz IPS getting more common), so can't really comment on anything specific.

I am currently using a 55-inch 1080p Sony TV as a computer display in my living room, having just upgraded from a 42-inch Vizio. My eyes are about 2.5 metres from the screen. No complaints here, and I *am* a picky person.

But I had to go through several hours of calibration and setup, including two separate DVDs (Avia and one other, the name escapes me now). This included multiple A/B comparisons between HDMI and DVI quality from my current Radeon card.

I just picked up my second 27" monitor as I also am looking for additional size. I've had no problems with either 27" @ 1080p. 2560x1440 is just to fine for my old eyes while 1080p is relaxing and I can work and play without fatigue.

Currently using the curved Samsung SD590C and really liking it.

So after a week on 1080p @ 27", I've gone and picked up a 1440p to compare and the difference is night and day. The fonts are slightly on the small side but the clarity is soooo much better. I'm done with 1080p.

Probably going to have to sell my sli'd 760's to manage the res in games though...
