I'm having this problem with my HDTV that I have never had before. I just got this tv back from Benq where they replaced a faulty panel & motherboard with new ones. That fixed some issues I was having with this tv, but since then I started having another problem.
I have a gigabyte P35-DS3R motherboard, gigabyte 8800GTS 320MB, vista ultimate X86, that's connected to a Benq DV-3750 37" 720 HDTV that has DVI, component, rca, vga, no hdmi.
When I got the tv back from benq, I connected the DVI cable as I usual, but this time it woun't detect a signal from the pc, the tv just shows a message that it's searching for a signal. However, when I disconnect the dvi cable either from the back of the pc or the TV, it makes that sound in vista when you disconnect a peripheral device.. I used the component cable which works OK, I uninstalled the nvidia driver from programs & features, and downloaded the latest from nvidia's website, I even tried latest beta ones but no signal when I hookup the dvi cable (and disconect the component adapter before starting up the system). I uninstalled the driver, then plugged in the VGA cable (using the dvi-vga adapter that came with my graphics card) it detected a signal and everything was working fine, till I installed the nvidia driver. After system reboot, I see the bios screen, but right before it shows the login screen, a black screen with a message "..VGA, searching for signal.." shows up. Vista, chipset and everything is updated..
I'm using a component cable now, but I want to troubleshoot the thing before I have to take the TV back to benq.
