Please someone help me out!! I bought a brand new Samsung 955DF monitor from Best Buy, and it works beautifully at 1024X768. But when I put the resolution up to 1280X1024, it flickers. Now, I tried it using 2 different video cards, A Geforce 256 and a Matrox G400, both had the same problem. I called the Samsung tech support and we went through tons of stuff (including refresh rates), nothing worked so I was told to take it back and get a new one. So today I went to Best Buy and I got a new one. When I was at the store I asked the guy if we could check out the new monitor and see if it was ok. He hooked it up to a computer they had sitting there and it worked fine at 1280X1024. So for the heck of it, I had him hook up the old one to see if it still flickered, and it didn't!!!! Now I'm starting to think that my power is bad where I'm living. (I'm in a fraternity house at a college...ha ha ha) So, does anyone have anything else I can try?!?!?! I got this beautiful 19 inch monitor and I want to be able to run it at 1280X1024!! Thanks in advance for the help!!

Do you have any transformers near your monitor? I had the same problem with my CTX because my power supply (transformer) for my speakers was plugged into the power center below my monitor. Try unplugging any transformers, and see if it stops.

Maybe a bigger power supply. And keep anything electronic away from your monitor. For example my alarm clock messed with my monitor before i moved it. Anything that uses a lot of power would be bad close to your monitor.

It could be caused by a lot of factors but mostly external like ballast from a flourescent light, PSU from the CPU system, Fans, Radio, Alarms, anything that runs AC current can actually affect a monitor. And sometimes it's orientation with the earth's magnetic pole. Try moving the unit away from all of these and try again. If it works perfect in the store you should be able to dupe that back in your room. Don't forget the fridge also runs on AC current and can seriously affect your monitor.

Check if there are any high powered devices on the same circuit, whenever my microwave is used it causes my monitor to flicker a bit. You also might want to try upping the refresh rates using PowerStrip. It basically "overclocks" your monitor in a sense, it gives you the ability to raise the default refresh rates at different resolutions.
