Hi
I kept my speakers on top of my monitor and now the screen is screwed. The screen initially had green/blue/red patches on the sides. After switching off and on, these patches have disappeared. But the screen has a wavy motion to it which is hurting my eyes. I tried changing the resolution, reinstalled my monitor drivers, switched off/on my monitor but the motion still remains. Needless to say i have removed the speakers. my monitor is a samsung 750s.
help!

Degauss your screen and see if that makes a difference. Change your refresh rate too.

I also like DaZ's comment.

I've screwed up a tv before with a magnet and it went away after a while. Just wait a couple of days and see what happens. Degauss it a few times also.

I don't think there is a connection between your speakers and the wavy motion. Waves indicate a dynamic condition. The permanent magnets in the speakers would give a static(non-moving) problem. Your monitor degausses itself every time power is applied so the color purity problem will clear up with time. If not get a TV tech with a portable degaussing coil to work it over for you. As for the waves , try a different refresh rate and move stuff around; turn stuff on and off until you find the culprit. Good luck.

This is a glitch that will happen to all CRT monitors. I remember reading an article on it a few years back, it was a scam where people would use magnets to damage there monitors, then send them back for new ones by warrentee. They would keep doing this and get a new monitor every couple months.
