Monitor shaking

So I just set up the Viewsonic E90F+SB, and it's awesome. One problem though, it shakes. Can't really describe but I'm sure you know what I mean, sometimes the screen shakes..I've noticed it after minimizing a game and also at random times. Read the users manual, went to viewsonic support on their site, searched these forums, can't find an answer, although I'm sure it's an easy one...anyone know whats wrong?

The setup is an Althon 64 3200+ on ABIT AX8 with a ASapphire X800xl, never had this problem on my old monitor(4-5 year old gateway 17")

Unfortunately, you say it's random.
If it was a consistent shake, I'd say maybe you have some non-shielded speakers near it.

A couple of random things I'd try:
a) be sure there's NOTHING near the monitor. (magnetic interference)
b) plug it into a completely different wall socket
c) route the monitor cable different ( be sure no other cables route over/under it )
..
..
d) try it at a friends house with a completely different machine/power situation

Sounds like it could be a magnetic issue. Have you checked around it for sources of EM interference? Maybe new speakers or something?

Don't have speakers, using headset. Only thing next to it is a lamp about a foot and a bit to the left, and a 13' tv(with an alarm clock on top) about 2 1/2 feet away.

make sure your running the correct refresh rate, as specified by the monitor.

game minimizing suggests that your desktop resolution may be a different aspect ratio than your game maybe? 16:9 instead of 4:3?

Yep, running 1280x1024 at 75 hrz like it says.
P.S. although it's random it happens pretty often, probably at least once every 10-15 minutes..and the other thing turned on next to is the alarm clock, lamp and t.v. are off.

Edit: Well the game was DII, so it was 800x600. I'll minize a couple times durning CS:S which runs at 1280x1024, like my desktop, and see what happens.

did you buy it from a retail store where they can test it out for you or just plain exchange it?

It was bought from a small company(same who custom built my PC, which is perfect), and was shipped here(Newfoundland) from Ontario. I could get him to test it, but I doubt he would know anything because he's never used it, shipped here delivered to me, and I opened it.

P.S. it hasn't happened in like 20 minutes..maybe it's gone hiccups from being new??Hope I didn't jinx it

another thing to do would be to hook the monitor up to another system to see if the shakes follow.

Alright well I just minimized CS:S and no shaking...so its been about 25 minutes and no shaking..I'm hoping it was just something wierd cause it was new.
I guess I'll let this die and if it comes back I'll just bump it up to the top with new info.
If I wasn't so lazy I'd test it on a different computer

Thanks.

Same crap happens to my monitor, but when I got to lanparties I dont get it. I think it could be the lighting in my room it is extremely bright to the extent that the bulbs die every couple of months. Anyways just when it shakes hit the side of the monitor, works for me.

Low voltage (like when the air conditioner compresser on the same circut cuts in) will make my monitor shake for a second. Its kinda a wobble really. Try a different outlet on a different circut.
