Monitor Suggestions

I'm getting a new monitor but I'm going to use it in a dual setup with a samsung 1200 nf. So I will be using the monitor for the settings windows in photoshop, instant messaging windows and some internet browsing. It isn't essention that I get a top of the line monitor. What are my option in the <300 range, I would be willing to consider a 17 inch monitor depending on the price. Would interference from the second monitor damage my samsung monitor.

hmm Well I cant really reccommend or warn you for some monitors but i'll give you everything I know :

Do not use philips monitors unless you're going to shield them agains electrostatics (and as dual monitor it might get much interference from the 1st) philips monitors are very sensetive for magnetic interference and a friend of mine had his one having permanently having moiree after 4 days .. (his speakers where next to his screen)

as for recommendations I can only reccomend the screen that I use

the highscreen MS 1595P
it has a DP of 0.18 which allows my 15incher to do 1600*1200 (and even at 70 hz (160hz max in 640x480)

as a seconf monitor this wold be good i think because it will remain very sharp up to a little distance ...

Try Cornerstone. They have some very high quality monitors, and pretty cheap.

I have a 21&quot; and 19&quot; monitor 8 inches apart, and I haven't seen any kind of distortion and such that would be caused by interference.

How about a Samsung 700nf alongside the 1200nf?

Try searching the GH and Video forums also to get some ideas of good manufacturers. You could get a nice 17&quot; for under $300 or still a pretty good 19&quot; for under $300.

If u want a nice 19inch monitor, get the samsung 950p. It is only 220 dollars on pricewatch.com.
